Very popular pub right next to the New Forest. Great for dog walking. We dropped in early evening on a Wednesday hoping for a meal but it was totally booked up so plan ahead if you want to go here! We stayed for a drink which is the least you can do in exchange for a parking spot, although there is public parking just a few yards further down the road.
Fantastic country pub , lovely decor, very busy for a Monday lunch, but the food and service will keep people coming here, wonderful! Dog friendly in the bar too
We decided to visit Canada Common and then The Rockingham Arms on whim on a Saturday afternoon. Luckily there was a cancellation and we were able to be seated. The place was full which is nice to see, especially in these times. The atmosphere and decor were cosy & the staff were lovely and friendly. My partner & I ordered the beef burger and it was delicious! Sorry I couldnt snap a picture before I dug in, I was hungry! . We will definitely visit again if we are in the area, and I would highly recommend.
Food is sensational, service is a bit … weird! We had booked a few weeks in advance for my birthday, just the two of us. Upon arrival we were told where our table was, not shown to, and unfortunately even though we booked far in advance we were sat Bar Side instead of restaurant side which we found odd for a late Sunday afternoon with an advance booking. When we found our table our self we had no menus on the table, as nobody had shown us to our table we were then unsure if we had to go to the bar to order and get menus from. My partner went up to the bar for a menu and came back with one, a few minutes later a waitress showed up to our table with another menu and some water. The food was without fault and absolutely beautiful but even as we were served our food I noticed a difference between the service our table received and the service a table behind us received- the table behind us were asked if they needed any additional sauces with their roast dinners and we were not. Seemed rather odd and just made it feel like they were brushing us off a bit and took away from the overall dinner which again was absolutely delicious. Overall lovely food, service seemed a bit slap dash at times which is a bit disappointing!
Visited for lunch, two of us and the dog . Very dog friendly. Taking the approach ‘choose something you don’t get at home’ I chose the liver… it was pink, it was excellent. Washed down nicely with a pint of Romsey Gold. Jane getting married in December was very friendly, professional and attentive … and looked after the dog . By prior arrangement parked up early for a walk on Canada Common. Strongly recommend December visit…. Remain impressed
YOU HAVE TO VISIT! This place is worth a visit and so gorgeous inside. Staff are friendly and the place on a Summers day is just sublime. I would highly recommend this place. The food was excellent, we all ordered different stuff, i had the Malaysian Curry Vegan and it was so tasty. With a pint of Pepsi.
Marco was amazingly helpful in planning my mothers wake. The ambiance in the room was super inviting with the glow of a fire. We tailored the menu and food was perfect. All our guests loved it and it was a wonderful celebration of my mothers life!! The perfect choice for any event! We went back for Sunday lunch and again food quality, choice and service was outstanding Next trip to UK we will certainly be found in this quaint country pub!! Keep up the good work!!
Popped in with my wife for a meal and the staff were extremely friendly. They dealt with a very rude customer extremely well. The food was great and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We will definitely be returning again soon. The staff were all fantastic which made our evening very pleasant. Thank you.

Beautiful pub, cozy atmosphere and decor, friendly and attentive staff. Fire!! Could not fault our evening!! As a big group of 16, it very easily could have become overwhelming...no chance. Every meal came out at the same time respectively, with a smile. And top quality food it was too!! Highly recommended this lovely little comfy spot !!
