Probably some of the best food and service we have received. Went in and was greeted by a lovely young lady who got us our menu and seated us. Service was fast, food amazing. They are really dog friendly and have dog bits there to make your fur babies visit just as nice. Would definitely come back again when around that way.
We are the hunters of the best pubs for the weekend, especially Sunday evenings when almost all pubs are closed or their kitchen works only till 5 pm- exactly the time when you are hungry like a wolf after the long walk through the Hampshire countryside we were lucky to find this lovely local pub and their kitchen is amazing, besides the cosy and very family atmosphere, so we are going to be permanent guests, join us, you will not regret
Really nice "local" pub with lots of original features, despite the Greene King branding. Friendly, helpful staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Although it was chain food, it was cooked to order and well presented. The drinks and food were reasonably priced
We've lived in the village for a year now and hadn't been till this last weekend. We feared, with it being a chain pub, that it would be a bit soulless and bland. Far from it. It felt like a really nice, classy country pub. The staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful, really kind to our little girls as well. The food was really, really good. The menu had so much choice, especially for a Sunday. It was all cooked to perfection and was so tasty. Our guests were mightily impressed. We'll definitely be returning, can't speak highly enough about this place our, more importantly, it's staff. Fantastic.
So pleased we booked as it was extremely busy, they were turning people away. Food & service was excellent. Value for money. We all had a great experience for my partners birthday lunch. Highly recommend, but do book!
For a pub chain, the food is very good. It was busy but the staff coped well and we didn't have a long wait.
Wonderful pub. Firstly, it’s cheaper than many others, secondly, the food is really good and menu is diverse. Duck and meat are particularly nice. Thirdly, kitchen is open long hours on weekdays and Sundays too. Staff is better than average. Professional, experienced, polite, at the same time relaxed, not too loud or intrusive like in some other places. Free and quite spacious car park, lots of space inside as well, at the same time not too massive or overcrowded. Peace and quiet like in a village cottage. Interiors are warm and cozy. As it’s located in a village many lucky locals just walk there, it gives a family-like impression. A36 Road is quite busy and many drivers just pass it by, not many are aware of the pub’s existence, hence it’s not spoilt like others.
What can I say, we popped in here over the Easter Weekend after taking the dogs for a walk. The staff were, friendly, helpful and attentive. We were all made to feel welcome and that definitely included the dogs . It's a lovely country pub, with good food, we will most definitely be back.
I had a really lovely time! They'd run out of a couple of things, but the waitress explained it all ahead of time and the menu is still really big. We also got brought the wrong food, but the waitress sorted it out as quickly as possible and gave us a few free drinks which was super nice of her. I gave it four rather than five because of the aforementioned things and because the table was quite sticky, but I honestly had a great time and would definitely go again!
Visited yesterday 26/10/22 for lunch my friend and I had the two courses for £6.99 we choose the mains and desert ,we were both delighted with our meals, the mains were a good size and tasty, for our desert we had Apple and blackberry crumble with clotted cream ice cream. It was present with fresh raspberries on the side all I can say it was delicious. Well worth calling into the Red Rover at Wellow.
