We went on a Saturday afternoon to the Riverside with a party of 5 people. Beautiful views of the river in a modern and classy pub. Food was delicious, we had a sharing boards to start and pub classics for main as well as some dishes from their autumn specials board. Drinks were also lovely. Open fire was lit and there was a nice and relaxing atmosphere.
Lovely room, very clean and extremely comfortable bed. Large bathroom clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent and very relaxing in the conservatory overlooking the river. Perfect for our 4 day break and exceptionaly good value. Really glad to have two more nights to come.
Absolutely love this place. Situated in a beautiful and peaceful setting close to Cressage. Whether you would like a quiet drink by the river in the summer or a sumptuous roast rib of beef on a Sunday, this is a wonderful place to visit. Always busy but it's large enough to find a tranquil spot. If you have a blue light card, you get 20% off your food bill. This is our go to place for good food and a stunning setting.
Great old venue that has been renovated relatively recently to a very high standard. The place is immaculately done inside and out. The garden and Riverside patio are great places for a sunny drink. Our food was delicious and the service perfect. Particular thanks too Aaron our wonderful waiter x
Took nearly an hour to order, they were out of the 2 meals that we wanted, which was fine, so we ordered steak & mixed grill. The steak was ordered medium rare, but looked rare when it arrived, again, not a massive issue. However when cut into the middle, it was blue to a la carte, which wasn't acceptable. This was returned and the manager said a fresh steak would be cooked, which was great to hear, however this took 15 mins as the ovens needed to be turned on again, and my meal was finished in this time while my partner waited. Then when the fresh steak arrived, it was burnt and charcoal flavoured on the outside, and well done when cut into. She went hungry and we had to go elsewhere to eat afterwards. The steak was taken off the bill, but from the poor service, being left 15/20 mins at a time no one having a clue what was going on, and then actively being avoided after the burnt steak was served, the whole evening left us with a sour taste in our mouth. We waited 20 mins at the end for the bill, only to have to get up and go to the till to sort it out, and still cost over £40 for 2 drinks, 1 meal and 2 sides. Will not be coming back and still sore from having to pay so much for a wasted evening. Photo attached is of the second steak, we didn't get a picture of the first one.
What a lovely place. The staff were all nice and good service. Great place for party, birthday, or a event. Great view over the river 7. There was a five star food service on the door on entering the place which I can say lived up to the standard. I will definitely be return and mite stay over when I am next in the area. Well done to all the staff for excellence service.
Went for lunch today,for our wedding anniversary. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Gorgeous surroundings, we were overlooking the river. Good food and generous helpings. Lovely outdoor sitting area too. Can't wait to go again. Would definitely highly recommend .
I had reservations about writing this post because I appreciate people are busy and sometimes that has an impact on the service but tonight being the 3rd time I have experienced such a hostile welcome and service I thought it time to share my review. Particularly tonight where the menus were snatched out of our hands because “we hadn’t booked”. Again I appreciate that places are fully booked but surely basic customer service would say that you manage this in a professional manner. We won’t be returning for while if at all and that’s a same because it’s a lovely pub with decent food and on our doorstep but the customer service skills of certain members of your team are without a doubt questionable.
5* is not enough. We went for breakfast, 2 adults and 2 children. The Inn is set in a beautiful location overlooking a river. There is a terraced area outside with adequate seating and we stayed inside separated by floor to ceiling windows to enjoythe view. There was a good choice of dishes on the menu all reasonably priced. I would recommend the full English and salmon with scrambled egg. The children have their own menu if required. The portions are more than enough. The service is excellent, premises are immaculate and the ladies toilet was spotless. gents not visited. I cannot speak more highly of our visit. We will go out of our way to come again if we are in the area.
Lovely place with superb views and setting. Let's get one thing straight. It's a Greene King pub, not a top of the range restaurant with top of the range prices. It serves pub food, but good pub food. And at very good prices. The menu is varied and offers good choice. The staff are unbelievably polite and pleasant and service was just about perfect. Excellent value for money.
