Peacock Inn
"The Peackcock Inn in Shrewsbury is a local pub that has it all. From our fantastic patio area, sports tv and not forgetting our great value food and drink, we’ve got everything you need for a good time. On our pub menu, you’ll find classic pub dishes alongside chicken dishes, steaks, burgers and a selection of light bites. We also have a children’s menu for little monsters to enjoy. In the 1970’s we were one of the first pubs in Shrewsbury area to serve pub lunches, and we haven’t stopped since. We’re the perfect place to relax over food and drink with friends. We’ve got a fantastic selection of starters, mains, desserts and light bites. From British classics to delicious curries and more."

We recently attended a wedding reception at the Peacock and I must say it was very good .The carparking can be a bit tight but we managed to park up and we enjoyed our day.Plenty of tables inside and out depending on your preference and they were well spread out.Service from the bar was very good, they didn't keep you waiting and the buffet was excellent.Plenty of salad, well filled rolls, great chips and to finish off lovely cupcakes. Very good.
Cracking pub with lovely owners and staff. Food is brilliant and very reasonably priced. Some good ales and lots of screens for when sport is on. Dogs are welcome in 2 parts inside , with water bowls offered for them. We will absolutely be back . Great pub. **Edit: visited again and can't fault the place...5 stars!!
Superb Sunday roast- so tasty and can't wait to return.Friendly and helpful staff, efficient service and a clean and tidy pub.The food's always truly scrumptious! Thanks and a huge well done to Jane and her team for always a fantastic job UPDATE on Sunday 30th October 2022: Just back from my local The Peacock pub in Shrewsbury and just adding two outside photo's of todays stunning roast beef. Was sooo tasty once again .I tried a roast at another pub two buses away on the other side of shrewsbury upon coming out of tge lockdowns on a saturday, it was okay but nowhere near as tasty as the peacocks Sunday roast. Would highly recommend! If you're on holiday, mini break, passing through, or live locally and you want a tasty sunday roast: this is the place to go and best to book beforehand and tell them Nadine recommends their roast! It's that tasty I can never eat it quick enough. There's also a vegetarian option aswell. I'd recommend the outback beer garden aswell, it's a beauty! Even lovely at end of October in the warm sun. One happy customer, and thanks again to Jane and her hardworking and friendly team, on a job very well done
I visited the Peacock in somewhat subdued circumstances having just attended a close relative's funeral. The friendly welcoming way I was greeted as a complete stranger was very heartwarming. The buffet and beverages that were laid on were excellent. Very well done to all concerned.
Popped in on a Friday night and the place was dead. The person behind the bar was more concerned with chatting to his mates at the end of the bar so called the lad clearing the tables to come and serve us. Zero communication skills and no interest from either of them in saying thanks for coming as we left even though we were the only patrons. Due to the laziness and disinterest of the staff we will not be returning and would not recommend it.
Had several good mid-week lunches at the Peacock and 2 recent funerals of 40 to 50 people. Service has been brilliant on all occstions. Very helpful manager.
Booked for a Saturday lunch at 12. The food took well over half an hour to come out. Asked for medium steak it was over cooked. Guacamole was under seasoned and bland. Left feeling very underwhelmed and will not be returning
Very accommodating. Served a party of 14, all eating different meals, all at the same time, although we did let them know in advance what we all wanted. Excellent food at reasonable prices.
Not much to say about he place, had been to a funeral where most of the people were on a very low income if any at all, two very small trays of sandwiches were brought in yes we know they serve food and could have put on a spread, but the close relatives could not afford it the manager saw someone eating a sandwich and sait that it wasn't allowed, a little later he saw someone else eating one and told us all to " drink up and leave " no sympathy from him at all
Good food for the price with large selection of meals etc, staff are all polite and friendly. Families welcome too.
