The Red Lion

Story

The Red Lion has been serving the local community of Aston and the surrounding areas since the 19th Century.

Now independently owned and operated by Bob Langley and Anne Walker, and having undergone considerable recent refurbishment, it has returned to being the heart of this beautiful Oxfordshire village.

Hosting regular favourites such as the Sunday Night meat draw, bi weekly Wednesday quiz nights, and movie showings from The Kiln Club, alongside an eclectic mix of one off events.

The pub serves a wide range of beers, wines, spirits and local ales. The Red Lion is an extremely friendly pub, frequented by locals and tourists alike, dogs and children are both made very welcome. The pub and its Landlords are very active in the local community, sponsoring the local football team Aston FC, and raising money for the local school.

Lovely 'traditional' pub. Roaring fire and a very friendly welcome from both the landlord and his patrons! Very much a local pub I think, and long may it remain that way. Beer good too.

It's not often that you can really refer to a pub as a true local, but here it is, there there's a real fire, friendly charactors, and a very socialable landlord and land lady. Whats even better is the excellent bar food they have available. Here is the heart of our community, where you can find out all the news you want, be it from the village or the world! Roger and his wife work hard to make this a suitable attraction to the village with their activities and certainly help to chear us all up, be it the football club, or just the elderly folk here. and visitors can find this place an excellent way of finding out all of the local sites. Here's one "visitor" who now uses this establishment with pleasure.
