Can this pub explain why its landlord seems to allow his chef to smoke at the bar during food and drink service hours? This is clearly in contravention of the Health Act 2006. Unless you want to increase your risk of lung cancer this is a place to avoid.

After walking in to find that we were the only table booked for the night we thought we would get very good service. We waited patientally for our order to be taken and then waited for the food to be brought out. The cutlery was brought to us and chucked in out table with no presentation. The cutlery was also dirty. The food was then brought to our table. We had ordered two medium rare steaks and one medium steak. What we received was two well done steaks and one rare steak. We had also order a side of garlic bread which came out burnt. We considered complaining but when we saw the chef sat at the bar smoking a cigarette we decided it was probably safer to just eat the meal and leave. It would not advise anyone visiting this establishment other than health and safety to shut it down.

Booked table for four given choice where we would like to sit as it wasn't very busy. Ordered two starters which arrived within 15 minutes. Four steaks which arrived a few minutes after starter plates were cleared away. All cooked to order. Only down side they don't specialise in coffees. Overall very good.

Great entertainment last night with an Irish Trio playing after our meal. Good service, reasonably priced and a good atmosphere.
