Location is amazing and the food is out of this world. Would highly recommend the bangers and mash! I also think this was my best Irish breakfast on the island! Will definitely be staying here again. If anything the bathrooms are a bit dated but with how great the location, food, and service was that didn't bother me one bit!
Very cute little pub and hotel in an incredible location, it's just a short walk to a lot of shops and cool historical sites. The food was delicious and the service was stellar. Be warned tho, the bathrooms are mad janky and the rooms are a bit dated.Rooms: 3/5
When it comes to location, food and stay it was quite good. So many beds in one room you don’t need to book 2 if have 4/5 people in a group one big room will do. The only unsatisfactory experience my group had was the main owner who needs a wake up call and have a better attitude towards the people staying there. He made my group pay €300 security fee which is not advertised on the site. Even though every other group didn’t have to pay. Really let down by this he was very rude and needs to grow up Walkability: Great
Great place to stay! The location is perfect, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. The food and service in the pub are wonderful. Excellent value!Rooms: 5/5
The Pub itself is great, serves great Food and good Drinks. Unfortunately the accomondation is Not. While the rooms are big and offer a Lot of space, they are pretty dirty. The toilet wasnt functioning correctly, Not flushing everything the First time. But the Most horrifying Thing was the amount of Water coming from the room ceiling. The ceiling itself had a lot of Water marks, partially heavy drops to some of the beds. After some heavy raining in the afternoon some of the beds were totally soaked in Water. I wasnt Always Sure If the ceiling would withheld the Water any longer. Also the rooms were quite noisy, but its in Pub, so that is expected to some degree. The Things offered also didnt Not hold Up the price asked for 1 night. Just a Few 100m nearby there was a 4 Star Hotel only asking for 10 Euros more. On the Flip Side the Pub is located totally in the centre and the Service was good. Also the WIFI wasnt working at all.
The Stuffed Chicken, potatoes, and veggies were super good. The waitress was very sweet! It was the perfect spot for an afternoon lunch!
Disgraceful… DO NOT STAY HERE. My friends and I stayed in rafters for the Easter bank holiday weekend. From the minute we arrived we were treated extremely poorly by management specifically the owner. The owner was cheeky, unwelcoming and straight up rude from the get go. On check in, he insisted we paid a ‘refundable’ €300 security deposit upfront along with our booking fee which was not disclosed on website or in the booking t&c’s and felt like it was something he just decided on when he took a look at us. From chatting to other residences over the weekend no other party was made pay this fee upfront. On check out, once rooms were checked and all was in order the owner was unable to refund us this money immediately after promising us this would be the case was clear he hadn’t requested this fee before. Overall the stay was horrendous, very unwelcoming and not somewhere I would recommend to anyone. The owner of this establishment needs to take sort out his attitude and quite frankly freshen up on his customer service.
Thanks to Gerry,Peter and staff who looked after us on a recent hen to Kilkenny. Great place to stay, clean and food was good too. Very good location.Rooms: 5/5
Stumbled across this place by accident. A live band were playing the reminents, I think they are local? Beer is beer but the band made the night for me, will make it back next time in KillkennyService: 5/5
Rafters was a brilliant experience from start to finish! Came here on a hen party with 24 ladies just before Christmas and the food and drink was fab!! - excellent service. Gerry went above and beyond with a lovely touch giving complimentary desserts to girls who were celebrating birthdays on the same weekend!! Definitely be back! Thanks a million!
