Well I am utterly shocked and very dissatisfied with the care Or should I say lack of. My brother was treated appallingly to the point that even his basic needs were not met ie food and drink when he was hungry sometimes at night there was nothing available for him depriving him of his liberty eventhough he was an informal patient. He was so distressed that he tried to escape and became quite challenging. Also no communication between them and the families and they also lie about things that are important. I trusted what my brother was saying. Please be aware of these people they clearly do not care and lack empathy. People need to stand up to these and report anything that is not up to standards so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Awful place. Wards are old and dirty. Way too small to accommodate patients on redcliffe ward. The psychiatrist on redcliffe ward is not interested in your well-being and will force you to take heavy duty medication. The permanent staff were lovely overall but the environment is not fit for purpose. I cannot believe how much money is made from NHS referrals to be placed like a caged animal.
This hospital allowed a patient to harass me from inside the hospital. I am not a patient . The patient targeted me via email whilst they were unwell. They harassed other people also . The Priory hospital allowed a patient named Gilli G from Cambridge to write emails to lots of people harassing me Gillian G managed to get away with things. The hospital managed to get away with things but I am still traumatized
I was taken n By a male nurse to a situation where I was put near an out of control male patient on purpose. I did not ask to leave my room. It felt strange to put into this intimidation on purpose by a male nurse. I often felt I was being used for there entertainment.
Currently still waiting for an appointment, which was meant to be two weeks ago. It was cancelled again today and I am having to wait a month in total now. I have never actually seen the doctor who is diagnosing me as they also let someone else go through all of my diagnosis assessments as well. I am not going to name this doctor but if this happens again I will edit this post to include their name. It has reached the point where I am not sure what I am paying for and considering demanding my money back. I am so angry.
REDCLIFF WARD Absolutely fantastic ward and hospital. Came to this hospital from Newcastle Upon Tyne 6 1/2 hours drive after my 4th attempt at suicide. The Crisis team asked to to come to the priory as it was one of the best in the country and I am certainly pleased I did. From the cleaners to the nurses, doctors, kitchen staff everyone just bends over backwards to help. Food is second to none and 3 hot meals a day becomes too much from 18.1st to 19 says it all Hospital provides everything you need so no money is needed unless you smoke. Medication wise they got me absolutely spot on and I also witnessed other patients making a substantial recovery. I always considered these places to be a nut house but believe me there are anything but. Different levels of mental health but all here for the same reason, to get better Thanks to everyone on redcliff amazing special people. Priory Hospital rejected treatment to a friend of mine in 2021 who was suffering badly with borderline personality disorder. Less than a year later he killed himself after seeking help but being told he was too high risk. I wouldn’t trust this place, they clearly are more concerned with image rather than offering help to vulnerable people.
Laura James and Debbie Longdale broke the BACP code of conduct whilst I was in their care, there were no consequences to their actions. Psychiatrists here lack empathy and fail to explain conditions and treatments fully. My health declined whilst I was treated by the priory teams. The priory staff gaslight their patients.
Some of the staff were nice I got physically assaulted by another patient there wasn't anybody to hand straight away . I had my hair pulled I didn't do nothing to provoke the way I was treated. The place did do nice food but in the way some of the staff were taking physical items and hiding in them swapping and changing clocks made my mental health worse . I'm better now because I chose to get better . I'm awaiting a complaints form because I was physically attacked.
I have been to many places in terms of outsourced psychiatric help and I can tell you that this is the place that helped me be stronger, change my view on my life, get up and move and most importantly learn to love myself. I would like to thank all the staff from Nurses to cooking staff and maybe a few doctors but especially the therapists you have changed me for the better. If you see any negative comments then you are witness to people being human beings, either mistakes happen or sometimes you can not fix everyone straight away. I know from very good experience though, if you are going through hell this is the best place to be.
