After a country walk, my husband, newborn baby and I stopped by The Patchwork Mouse for a coffee. The lady that manages the place was rather dour, but we ordered regardless. Then our baby did what babies do and we needed a baby change pronto. We asked if they had a baby change, nope. We asked if we could change her on our table, nope (- even though there was no one else in the cafe). The dour manageress said that I must do it on the floor! Not wanting to put my newborn on the floor in the walkway to the toilet (and to save my bad back), we awkwardly changed her on my husband's lap. We could see the manageress having a peek to make sure we were not using her precious tables. This place is not family friendly, the atmosphere is stale ... Oh and if you want a skinny latte forget it as they don't have skimmed milk. Avoid avoid avoid!

Ok. Coffee and scones. Limited menu, but did what they did well.

Great homemade cakes and a wide choice of teas and infusions at reasonable prices. The only place we found open in Painswick for a cuppa on a Monday afternoon..

Variety of lovingly made teas and coffees as well as locally homemade cakes, but for me it has to be the cheese scones sometimes with chives sometimes without. There usually is a local Cotswold artist exhibiting their work on the walls hence being an Art Cafe. Free good wifi available. Patchwork Mouse good for business and pleasure!
