The Palace Cinema

About

A family run independant historic cinema built in 1910 offering 2 screens with the latest Dolby Digital Sound and Projection in both.
Finalist in The Forester Small Business of the Year award 2013.

Story

We show first run mainstream films and a selection of non-mainstream and foreign films.
We aim to make going to watch a film an enjoyable experience again with quality presentation, comfortable seats and proper ground coffee and a range of teas and cakes that can be taken into the screens plus the usual snacks and soft drinks.
In Autumn and Winter we play daytime Tea Matinees which include a free tea or coffee and biscuits.

Great experience and lovely place. The cinema is easy to find and has a small variety of films to watch. Prices are excellent and very reasonable and you can pre-book your tickets online. There are seat boosters for the little ones do they can watch the film too. Sound is good and screen is more than adequate for this size so really nothing to complain about. You can buy a variety of snacks at great prices with popcorn starting at £1.20 for a fun size and going up to a large at £3.70 (if I recall correctly). You can also buy a selection of cold and warm drinks, sweets, crisps as well as sweet and salty popcorn. All in all this was a great day out and above all affordable for a family of 5

A fabulous little Gem, just up from the town by a few minutes on foot. Prices are now a flat rate at all times at £3.50/person, and the snack food is sensibly priced too. Fancy a cuddle up with someone? (Or just got loads of stuff with you) Look for the double sized seats, either at the end of a row or the back if the screen. Genuinely a fabulous facility that's worth that couple of minutes walk from Cinderford centre.

The cinema is in an old building but it's quite quaint really and has a nice old-fashioned character. Don't get me wrong it's not chocolate box quaint it's all shabby chic quaint and the shabby is authentic not manufactured. The tickets are cheap and if you go at the right time very cheap - a couple of pounds each. By normal cinema standards the shop is also very cheap. I'd recommend you go if you can, just to try it out and get a different experience to the modern multiplex cinemas.

One of the hidden gems of the forest and the best value cinema in Gloucestershire. Shows all of the main films at a fraction of the cost of the cinema chains. Make sure that you get there early for popular films as there is no reserved seating. Two screens although the second is a bit smaller but perfectly adequate.

The Palace Cinema is a real hidden gem and beats all of the big cinema chains hands down on value (only £3.50 per ticket), staff friendliness and overall experience. My son loves coming here and especially to the smaller screen upstairs.
