The museum is small, but very interesting. It can take about 40 minutes to see everything calmly. The surprise shop is small, but you can see everything completely in just a few minutes. The experience is very cool and you can learn a lot. They present various diseases and what was used in the past to cure them, in a fun and clear way. I recommend a visit.
Interesting and informative Great visit! Its so nice to see how far medicine and technology have come. Its a one person spiral staircase to enter and exit. No lifts. Very narrow too.
Lovely little museum which I visited with a friend. We are both aspiring medical students which is why we may have enjoyed it much more than some. Either way, the pathology is fascinating and the ways that Medicine and healthcare has developed through the centuries is incredible. The lady at the Apothecary counter was lovely and was able to answer our questions. We even met some leeches! Would definitely come again.
Fantastic hidden gem of a museum. Barbaric information on how operations were carried out here in London. Really informative and fully of great displays. Worth a visit
I love the museum and the lecturer - dr. Monica - brilliant. Lesson about medicine, it's beginnings 200 years ago, money well spent! Will visit again in the future with my 2 year old daughter! Best wishes dear team, keep up the good work!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
A great place to visit to discover what a surgical theatre looked like in the 1600's. The museum exhibits have been beautifully planned out. Other than the surgical theatre itself... The highlight of the visit was probably how to get in and out of the museum... Up/down an incredibly steep spiral staircase with a naval rope for hand holds.
Absolutely amazing and so iconic! The operating theatre itself is recognisable from so many movies... and not to mention the vast and diverse amount of items on display in the garret itself. A must see.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
One of the coolest museums I’ve ever been to. Everyone we met there was extremely friendly. I loved the duck scavenger hunt they had, it really kept us engaged and we got a cool sticker at the end. I really encourage people to stop by when they’re in London.Wait timeNo wait
Interesting little museum located at the top of a 52 step spiral staircase. Home to what use to be a herb garret and one of the oldest surviving operating theatres in the country. Not the largest of museums, but for the relatively low price for entry especially with the 2-4-1 tickets, it is well worth it.
Found this on google map near my to-go places and got a pleasant surprise. First you would need to climb up a flight of 52-step narrow claustrophobic spiral staircase to get to the reception office. Note the green/red light to see if you can/cannot go up/down, red light indicates someone is already using the staircase. The museum was actually a garret that once was an apothecary and contained the oldest operating theatre. Lucky to bump into a free tour at 14:25 odd time which lasted around 15min, well worth it.
