Had a wonderful meal here with other half and 2 friends. The beef pie was beautiful, burger was great too.. the cheesecake was one of the nicest I've ever had. Lemon and ginger.. friends had the chocolate brownie and chocolate fudge cake, both were great.. staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was great. Will definitely be coming back.
Nice little pub on the bridge in ripponden nice area outside to sit or eat inside in the beautifully old walls.nGood selection of AF drinks always a winner nThe food was nice and well presented.nService was good although a bit slow but didn't take away from a great experience. I had the pepper and spinach chilli and my partner had the Cajun chicken loaded fries
We come back here, year after year. The service is very warming & made welcome. The Sunday Lunch of Roast Beef is absolutely Devine, faultless in fact. Dessert was Biscoff & Mars Bar cheese cake with ice-cream & Cherry Bakewell with Custard.
Lovely quaint 1300 old building with lots of character. I forgot to take pictures of the food but it was very good. I had the pate with damson gin chutney, plenty of pate, partner had scotch eggs and home made piccalilli, gorgeous, pork pie and peas with separate mint sauce, it was a nice size in a sea of mushy peas very nice, they forgot my extra hand cut chips tho. Partner had steak pie and chips which was large and you could tell it was homemade, big chunks of meat and a lovely pastry topping. A refreshing tapped cider to wash it down. Good prices and friendly staff, it was fine for lunch, by 3pm it started to fill out with reservations ready for the 4 o'clock evening menu, also full of locals which I think is a good sign. Would defo go again if in that area again, we drove that little bit further to go here, we were on the moors and just didn't fancy any of the other pub chains, glad we made the extra effort.
What super friendly people! An absolute gem of a place in Ripponden, serving tasty food at reasonable prices. It's warm cosy atmosphere draws you in from the moment you step inside. I'll definitely be frequenting this delightful pub.
