Live music venue
The Neptune Inn is the best live music venue in Brighton and Hove. We've been giving musicians a place to perform and audiences a great time for almost 20 years so we really know what we're doing.
The quality filter we apply to the bookings brings internationally acclaimed acts like Miller Anderson, Papa George and Roland Chadwick to grace our stage as they just love playing there. Even the late great Gary Moore turned up and dazzled us with his passion and skill on a couple of occasions. We also make a point of featuring the cream of local talent such as The Long Haul, Dolly Dagger, John Crampton, Shauna Parker, Simon and Sleez, Theseus Gerrard, Sam Chara, Tracy Jane Sullivan, The Diablos and The Informers to name but a few.
We have live music every Friday from 8:30-11:00 and every Sunday from 8:00-10:30 and it's always free to get in - so it's advisable to turn up early.
We also hold two monthly nights to help you beat the Monday blues.
On the second Monday of each month we hold More Music Mondays - a folk, rock, jazz, blues, whatever (anything goes) and poetry session featuring some of the Neptune regulars both amateur & professional plus newcomers that just want to get up and play their instruments or sing us a song. Everyone is welcome, just turn up and put your name down to get a slot on the night.
The last Monday of the month is Nepp'd-Tunes. This is a music appreciation night where anyone can bring in some music, spoken word even sound affects (again anything goes) to play on our turntables. The only rules are it has to be on vinyl and you have to tell us a bit about each record you play, whether it's a cherished memory or you just love the bassline. Timings are worked out according to how many people turn up, but roughly 15 mins or 3-4 records on average. So reacquaint yourselves with those 33's 45's and 78's that have been sitting in the attic and come and share them with us.
We're a proper pub serving quality real ales, lagers, wines and spirits at pub prices, with no black boards offering Himalayan yak cheese on marbled tomato bread, no constant Sky Sports, no juke box (we do play excellent music through our own system though!) and no attitude. Just a great, friendly down-home boozer!
See you down there for a pint.
