Modelo opened in April 2012 in what had previously been a Woolwich Building Society. The building is a fantastically quirky space with a great snug area to the rear and complimented by some new photographs being added to the already beloved classics. Modelo comfortably holds 80 covers and the near floor-to-ceiling windows to the front (which can be fully opened up during the warmer months) flood the building with light.

We came here for breakfast as it was recommended by a friend. The atmosphere was lovely and they way the place is decorated was gorgeous. I loved the lamp shades, the pictures on the wall and all the mirrors. It's actually a really big place. The breakfast came quickly and it was delicious. I had the lounge eggs with smoked back bacon on a muffin. Definitely would go again!!

Nice atmosphere and decoration. Good food as well. 
The 2 stars goes to the waiting. Awful system. There's no table service. Had to queue at bar for 15 to be told at the moment I was ordering that the food would take another 30 minutes (took 35). Could've been a much better experience overall...

Being a Sunday Afternoon we got served quickly at the bar.  The place is nice, staff friendly and the overall ambience has a really nice lounge feel to it.  I love the quirky decor.  The reason for my very rating is as follows:  The meal we got served was not very good.  The meat on the superhero burger was was dry and overcooked and the chips tasted more of grease than potato.  The other is issue is price.  Based on this experience I did not feel the price represented good value.  I will come again and give the place another shot and will leave another review but I think the kitchen needs looking at.

We’d walked all the way from Brighton pier last Saturday looking for a place to eat that satisfied us all but it was looking like one of those Goldilocks days where each one of the many, many restaurants was discounted by one or other of us for one reason or another. Too posh, too dark, too basic, too busy. The Lounge appealed immediately, a tempting menu, bright, light, funky and fun. We got a seat in the sun and enjoyed the music, service and food. We were so glad we’d held out, we’ll be back.

We booked this place for an Engagement celebration meal. The menu is huge! There is a whole Gluten free menu, vegan menu on the back, tapas, burgers, all day bunch. There is so much on the menu I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. Delicious tapas food with again, a huge selection of cocktails, soft drinks, milkshakes and mocktails! The staff were very attentive and friendly, you order at the bar which really is best for big groups! Fast service even with the place being very busy and an 18th birthday party. Also the whole place is really flat with wooden flooring so wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet. A perfect place for anyone with special dietary requirements or in a wheelchair to have a bite to eat or a huge range of coffees and cakes!
