Our first time at the Urchin, but it won’t be our last.nnWe had a fabulous lunch with a lovely carafe of wine.nnUsually we have a single course each but the menu including the specials was too inviting to not indulge.nnI opted for the Spider Crab with Blackbean sauce and my partner had the scallops - both very good but the crab was a bit too messy for the amount of crab I side. The sauce in the crab was very full bodied and delicious. As for the scallops my partner said they were Devine.nnI forgot the prawn crackers - lucky these weren’t in a bag as we would have finished the lot.nnFor the main course I had King Prawn Laksa - plenty of shell on prawns, full of flavour and the sauce was very tasty, just enough spice to compliment the prawns.nnMy partner had muscles in an Italian soup, which was very light and very nice.nnWe both followed with ice cream.nnThe wine was a Sancerre and was gorgeous, complimenting the meal very well.nnI thought, for what we had the value was pretty good.nnThe service was good too, and the staff seemed knowledgeable on the dishes.nnWill go again for sure.
Ate here for the first time on Friday 13th. We had one of the best meals I have in a while. Food was so good, the whole lobster, sweet & spicy king prawns and the siracha butter scallops the highlight but all the food we had was great. Will definitely return soon!
Such a great pub. The service was amazing, especially our server Grace who was a dream at making sure we had everything we needed. The oysters were great and the portions were really generous! Can't wait to go back!
Fab pub in Hove. Recommended to us and didn’t disappoint. Everything was fresh and superbly cooked. So good we’ve booked again
Been here a couple times for lunch, seafood is super fresh and tasty. Service is always really friendly and attentive. Really recommend coming here when in Hove.
