It has changed significantly since I used to go as a student in 2002 to 2005. Lovely and clean, well decorated, plenty of drinks choice and outdoor seating. Friendly staff too.
An excellent place to freak out with people, make new friends, enjoy the music, dance, drink.
It's a popular nightclub on newland Road, and it's always buzzing with life. There are a variety of drinks to pick from, and the atmosphere is generally relaxing.
Great atmosphere tables set out well however we waited 40 minutes before anyone bar staff came to serve us.
Great atmosphere, super cheap drinks and friendly staff! I have been coming here for many years and it has always been one of my favourite student bars!
Me and the Mrs recently visited the Piper for a much needed child free evening. The Mrs made an online booking for an outdoor table which was a very simple process. We arrived only to find that she'd booked the time slot for 2 hours earlier and on paper we'd missed our slot. Luckily we were greeted by a top doorman who clearly understood the mistake and agreed to give us a table inside. We spent 3 hours at the Piper enjoying a range of cocktails and jumping on the jager train just like we did many years ago. Although the atmosphere was not the same due to lockdown restrictions, the Piper made the most of the situation with them having a DJ playing some old classics and the light show made it feel a little normal although there was only around 50 people in the club. Staff where fantastic, we spoke to a couple of the floor staff who where happy to laugh and joke with us and were really friendly. Looking forward to getting back in a few weeks now we can dance. Thanks for making my Birthday night as memorable as possible.
Monday nights are the best. Been here on ‘seductive saturdays’ too. It’s usually a good night out. The location is why students choose piper over a club in the city centre. It’s incredibly difficult to get a taxi home at 2-3am from the city centre. Entry and drinks are an average price. The music is on the more popular side. The dance floor isn’t that big. Only has one floor. There are some areas to sit. Bathroom is decent for a club.
Friendly, helpful staff, great night
Venue itself is decent and music, depending on taste and night, is good. The service at the bar on a busy night is very slow - expect a 10 to 15 min wait for a drink but the bar staff are friendly. On multiple nights, however, I've witnessed the bouncers being extremely aggressive and unprofessional - just unpleasant really.
Good music and professional staff. Drinks slightly overpriced but it is a higher end establishment. Right in the middle of princess ave its near lots of bars and clubs, so if you get bored plenty of places to go to. Personally I found it very fun, plenty of seating areas around the dance floor make it very enjoyable.
