We had great Sunday roasts here. The beef roast was very tender and one of the best cooked beef roasts we have had. The staff were friendly and assertive. The setting is really lovely with a great view of the canal and it wasn't too noisy like how pubs can get sometimes.Food: 5/5
Cosy pub, friendly service. We were a large group and the food was brought with long time lines we all ate at different times. We ordered for the medium rump steak and it cane well done and as we had waited for long just ate without making a fuss. I love the location and the views especially facing tye canal.Food: 3/5
We came here on a Sunday and the weather was glorious outside, so being by the canal was so nice. We reserved a table upstairs. Not so crowded and we didn't feel crammed in with a dog and a toddler. We did walk by downstairs later and it looked more busy. We ordered via the app which was convenient, but do note that you will need to sign up, so you may prefer ordering at the bar instead. Food was really good! We ordered fish and chips and it was cooked really well and also came with a curry dip! We also ordered a pork Sunday Roast - presented beautifully and had a good amount of meat, and veg.
Classic range of pub fare on a canal with plenty of narrow boats and lots of light from the big windows with terrace dining available and blankets available for those outside if it is chilly. Food is good but not great but the cheerful environment, nice, atmosphere and enjoyable, setting certainly make up for any average aspects. Super friendly staff and wine selection of beers. Wheelchair accessibility: Should be good.
I recently celebrated my birthday at the Narrowboat pub, and it was absolutely unforgettable! From the start, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the team went above and beyond to make my special day truly memorable. Kamila was incredible – she helped decorate the space to perfection, ensuring everything looked festive and stylish. She also took care of cutting and distributing the cake and champagne, adding a personal touch that made the celebration feel even more special. Ben was equally fantastic, expertly handling the distribution of food and drinks and ensuring all my guests were happy and well-attended. The food was exceptional and a real surprise compared to other venues of this kind. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients, elevating the entire experience. The area we rented was spacious, with a fantastic balcony that offered beautiful views of the Regent's Canal, creating a perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The combination of the stunning location, the outstanding food, and the exceptional service provided by Kamila and Ben made my birthday celebration everything I had hoped for and more. I wholeheartedly recommend the Narrowboat pub for any celebration – it’s a place where you feel genuinely cared for, and where every detail is thoughtfully handled. A huge thank you to the team for making my birthday so special!
Tasty Sunday roast - went for the roast pork, which was really tasty, seasonal veg, a yorkshire, lots of gravy and possibly the best roast potatoes I've ever had! Shared a cauliflower cheese which was creamy, cheesy and delicious!Food: 5/5
Lovely Sunday roasts - though could be warmer as they came room temperature meats; and delicious desserts, especially best crumble we've eaten- though Bakewell tart was a tad overcooked and a bit dry. Overall, a great experience and lunch, and definitely recommend visiting especially as canalside so lovely to watch boats cruising passed and to go walking after meal. Thanks Reece and Hayley for looking after us so nicely. Dietary restrictions: DF versions accounted for.
What a disappointment. Whilst the booking process was smooth, the rest of our time there was just about mediocre. 6 of us dined near the balcony, and it kept getting cold because people couldn't be bothered to close the door behind them. For the whole evening. The staff was attentive but not very competent. We places some drinks orders multiple times and they never came. The food was ok. I preferred the fries to the fish of my eponymous dish.the scotch egg was nice, but the burger was very average. What shocked us was the beetroot and feta cheeses salad. It was clearly made from scraps of salad, with four slices of beetroot and two cubes of feta. All of that for the astronomical sum of £14. The redeeming dish was the apple and plum crumble. The crumble was a bit sweet but otherwise, it was quite nice. Beer selection was decent, but our incentive for going was that they allow dogs. We won't be returning.
Inflation has hit very hard in this restaurant. We dined here last year. The previous experience was great. Unfortunately this time was far from a great experience. The portion size of the exact same dish as last time had been cut by almost half. The price was similar. The chips were advertised as triple cooked, this was not the case. The service when entering the restaurant was bad. We got shown our table without having been asked if we would like to see the menu or if we would like a drink. I went to the bar to order drinks for my wife and I. We will not be going back.
The staff were very helpful with our wedding celebration. Food was great and at good portions. The balcony area let people circulate a little bit and take lovely pictures.Food: 5/5
