About

The building has been used as a Metal Works since 1925. We still have operational machinery that is over 30 years old.

Story

Much of the building has now been restored creating an inspiring workspace and we host a variety of functions when the machines are switched off at night.
The Islington Metal Works is now also available as a fully licensed flexible event space.
There are three operational bar's. One in the courtyard, another in the restaurant and one by the club dance floor.
These spaces can be used independently or linked accommodating up to 500 people.
A Turbosound Highlite system suitable for live acts or D.J's is installed on the dance floor.
Modular staging is kept in house if live acts perform. This can also be configured as a catwalk for fashion shows on the dance floor.
Our operations team have tackled any challenges presented to them. We have the ability to provide event support at any level.

We had our wedding reception and party at Islington Metal Works in August 2018. This is a truly unique and alternative venue, with an amazing team! We were able to get exactly what we wanted: a colourful, fun barbecue dinner with a 5am finish, which we never thought we could have in central London. The whole team was amazingly helpful to make our vision come to life. Our guests were all amazed by the food and how different the venue looked. Thank you Laura, Nikki and all the team for making our wedding day just perfect.
We've worked with a number our clients at Islington metalworks venue over the last few years and I cannot speak highly enough about the venue and staff.The team are always helpful, professional and accomodating and have the best interests of the event and client at heart. We look forward to future events and a great relationship with this fantastic venue.

We just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything you did for our wedding in June. We literally had the best day ever and Laura, Nikki and the team made sure everything ran smoothly - we didn’t have to think about a thing on the day. The food was incredible, the staff totally on it and the venue exactly how we envisaged it. And thanks for the tip about the confetti canons - all our guests can’t stop talking about them! Both of us agree that the whole team were fab right from when we first met, until trying to get rid of us at 2:30am sorry Nikki!!! We can’t thank you enough for making our day just perfect.
We had our wedding at The Islington Metal Works in April 2017 and it was incredible. Bernadette, Laura and the team were brilliant, so kind and thoughtful and they've done weddings a million times so everything was under control throughout the whole planning process. The decor was amazing and the food was incredible, all of our guests commented on how good it was. It was such a perfect day and we are so grateful for the team for taking such good care of everything.
We had our wedding reception here in May 2019. Nikki and Laura are both really helpful and easy to work with and helped us with all our requests. Decorations were exactly as we had requested and everything looked awesome on the day. The chef is amazing. We had a tasting evening which was fantastic and then we requested pork cheek for the meal which wasn’t a normal dish which he did amazingly well. We also made a request for Chinese dumplings in the evening which came out so well and even our Chinese relatives were impressed! The day went very smoothly, everything was organised well and we didn’t have to worry about anything.
We had our wedding reception here and it was absolutely amazing. The team were extremely helpful from beginning to end and flexible with whatever needed to be done. The venue was perfect with its quirky prop room where you really can let your imagination run wild and might have to rein yourself in, not to mention the flexible food menu which was great. The team followed the brief to the letter and everything ran smoothly on the night. Would highly recommend considering this venue.
We had our wedding here in October 2017 and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a London wedding. The venue management and staff were so helpful, patient and resourceful - they take all the stress out of organising and setting up for the big day! The venue itself is full of character just see the photos on Google. Lastly, the food was excellent too and many of our guests told us they loved it.
It was absolutely amazing! We had our wedding at Islington metal works and I wouldn’t choose any other venue. People were amazing, we didn’t have to care about anything, we enjoyed so much our special day and they took care of everyone and everything. It was stress free and that’s all we would ever wish for! Thank you amazing Islington metal works team! You rock!
We had our wedding reception here in August 2017. It was a fabulous day and we had so much fun. The venue and lovely staff allowed for flexibility on timings and anything else we wanted incorporated into our day shots for the best men during speeches, our own wine on the top table and the addition of a beer pong table to name a few. The venue provides fun props and unique decoration which guests loved - we got some great photos as a consequence too. If you are getting married in Islington Town Hall it's really convenient too. Most people walked down Upper Street to the venue. Or got a bus! It was a real London wedding. Thank you so much for everything you did in the run up to, the day of and the aftermath!
