Lovely location, cozy place but terrible customer service. We came here to watch the world Cup. Before we order, asked if we could have sits near the bar where we can be near the screen. Lady gave an extra stool so we can order drink and sit. When we paid our drinks, other came and say ' you are not allowed to sit here' even though we explained, he didn't care and sounds like if you don't like you are leaving the place. Just realised He DOUBLE CHARGED drinks........ Singe apology would make much better. First time I visited my local pub, but ruined my Satuerday and won't recommend my friends and colleagues. Horrible experience!!!!!
Only had a couple of drinks here but really liked it. Great natural light from the big windows at the front, and the whole place has something of a unique, tropical greenhouse vibe about it big pots with tropical plants all over the place. Maybe there's some history there somewhere in connection to the name. Whatever the reason, it was a lovely visit and would happily go back.. ..and they're dog friendly, there are strategically placed water bowls everywhere.
Me, my boyfriend and our little doggy popped in for lunch early afternoon today. The pub was very quiet but we felt super comfortable and welcomed. The interior was lovely and I thought the menu was great - something for everyone. We ordered a few bits to share. Our food arrived quickly and everything was delicious! - I’d recommended the croquettes and arancini. The lady who served us was super friendly and made Watson the dog really happy by giving him a couple of treats. It was my first time visiting but definitely not the last. Thank you :
I had my 30th Birthday at The Island Queen on Saturday night and it was great! Leigh and team were excellent with communication before hand and managed to change some of the food order to suit all our guests! The upstairs room was really well laid out and worked perfectly for our group of 50. The buffet went down a treat and the quality was really high! Would highly recommend for a party or event!
great food with a nicely varied menu, huge selection of beers, as well as other alcoholic drinks. really nice atmosphere and decor, plenty of tables and the staff are lovely. definitely recommended for lunch or just a quick pint!
Lovely pub, nice crowd and friendly service but terrible food. My fish n chips was like a bad school meal with soft/squishy batter, soggy chips not even close to being ‘triple cooked’, as claimed and mushy peas so dry and tough they were inedible. All for £15. Their chef should consider a career change.
Reserved a table here for some food and drinks. Pub is beautiful but the steak not so much, was average, on the thin side and not cooked to my preference. Paired with a small portion of chips. At £23, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed and hungry.
Beautiful place! I loved the decorations but I ordered a burger and chips, both were over cooked. And if you like ale like me, they have one - London pride.
The Island Queen is a charming and lively pub that offers a cosy atmosphere that's perfect for a few quiet pints in the week, a more lively Friday/Saturday night out or a chilled weekend afternoon visit. Tucked away on a quiet back street, the pub is full of character and has a warm and welcoming vibe. The comfortable seating, low lighting, and wooden furnishings create a cosy and inviting ambiance. It has a fantastic beer selection with a great variety of local and international brews on tap. The staff are friendly, helpful and will let you try some to find one you like. The food is also top-notch, with a varied menu that offers something for everyone. From classic pub grub to more refined dishes, the food is always fresh and tasty. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it an excellent spot for lunch or dinner. Overall, The Island Queen is a gem of a pub that's worth seeking out. With its charming decor, friendly staff, great beer selection, and delicious food, it's the perfect spot for a relaxed night out with friends.
Amazing pub, delicious food and lovely staff. They're amazing, especially Lauren They were so kind to us. I choose for my birthday celebration and definitely will come again
