The Mockingbird is fully independent and is all about offering a disruptive cinema experience. We feel that cinema's need soul in both their food and drink offering alongside a great screening environment too. We can also cater for a number of corporate or private hire types.

What a brilliant venue! Our first visit last week to see the Commitments movie and live band. It certainly won’t be our last. Comfortable seating and great visuals. The auditorium was cleared during  the interval to create the dance floor. All very impressive, and great service from the bar team with a good selection of drinks at very reasonable prices. Everyone was super friendly and Lee was an absolute star, going above and beyond to help us secure tickets. Cannot recommend highly enough.

First time visiting both the Custard Factory and the Mockingbird Cinema for the all-day Twilight movie marathon. I loved it! The staff were friendly, films were great and the chairs were comfortable. The room was a little bit too warm but that can’t be helped. I think I may have found my new favourite spot.

First time visiting here for a fantastic James Bond event. Double feature, meet and greet with Bond girls, Lotus Esprit parked outside and live music. It was all so well organised. The screens were intimate and comfy not a bad seat in the house and the staff went above and beyond to make sure customers were happy. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.

Came here for their Friday surprise movie with no expectations and have already booked again!  Started with a £3.50 pack of Proper popcorn happy to spend more on snacks as the movie was free!  Then, having never been to the venue before, went on an escape room mission to the bathroom - think all black corridors with white arrows taking you in a maze of directions. It was hilarious, highly recommended for that alone   Movie was the strangest thing we had seen in a long time - Welcome to the Dollhouse 1999  Good vibes, lovely staff and an all round fun experience.  10/10 highly recommend over other cinemas!

Fantastic venue with staff that really care. I met one staff member after a James Bond event in Oct 2024 who shared his love of the venue and cinema in general. They have a good selection of craft beers and other drinks for whatever you may wish to see, but you must talk to the staff, they have such passion for their venue. I fully support them after being here. Best wishes to them … you’ve won a fan.

Made my first visit yesterday to the Mockingbird to see the Operation Warthunder  premiere… I have never been  to a place so welcoming. The staff are amazingly friendly and it’s such a cool little venue.. It’s rare I go anywhere I feel so safe too. Really great little place and well worth a visit! Will definitely pay another visit when next in brum

We hired the Mockingbird cinema for my son's 7th birthday party, and it was such a fun experience - you get to use the bar area afterwards for the cake. The kids had an amazing time, and were even given some free lollipops from the staff there. I would much rather support an independent business if I can rather than a big chain cinema, and Mockingbird is just such a great place. Would really recommend for a stress free relaxed kid's birthday party.

Went to see Blur - To the End documentary From booking to viewing everything about this place is set up for the customer You can choose your own seats and it’s easy to do online Screen 2’s seats are so comfortable, it felt like watching the film at home but with a few strangers The cinema staff are welcoming and also gave a friendly goodbye on the way out I also saw the staff making some kids feel extra special with stickers and posters  An absolute joy to visit

Hosted an event here on 23/06/24 and I can't thank the staff enough for being super helpful in the smooth running of it. I love the cinema itself even with it's Resident Evil secret lab-esque toilet corridors! and would happily work with them again.

I've been here a couple of times and have been to both cinema rooms. I love the whole vibe of the place. It's super cosy and comfortable! Will definitely visit again soon
