Beautifully refurbished, with a smart and stylish interior. Loads of room, different seating locations indoors & out. Menu is the standard expected from a pub chain, drinks and food served well. Great venue for event hire.

The Marchmont Arms got refurbished a few years ago and is still looking all the better for it. It’s probably one of the most ‘classy’ looking pubs from the inside in the whole of Hemel (no jokes about how ‘that’s not saying much!’). Once inside the bar area, you’d be hard pushed to distinguish it from any trendy city bar. Talking of the bar, it does have a reasonable selection of drinks at typically-high prices (but if you’re someone who goes out drinking regularly, this will hardly come as a surprise). However, most of the pub’s inside is dedicated to the restaurant side of things. The menu is good, but a little on the expensive side. However, the food was all good and reasonable proportions, plus the service was excellent. It’s worth mentioning that the pub is a stand-alone building that looks quite (nicely!) old fashioned and is located on the very edge of the town and if it’s sunny then the beer garden is a lovely place to sit and eat/drink. There are climbing frames for the kids to play on and you get to look over the greener part of Hemel while you’re out there, making it feel more like a country pub. Definitely one of the nicer pubs in Hemel. A bit pricy, but worth it for special occasions.

A delightful building with plenty of parking. Helpful staff even on a busy Saturday night. Took a party of 15 to dinner so pre ordered. Lots of different menu choices-all hot, tasty & well presented.

Very average. Service from staff was attentive and friendly. Food was bland and dry. Garlic bread starter was bland and dry. Spit roast chicken came with smallest serving of salad, chicken was extreamly dry and hard to swallow. It looked bare, I asked was it supposed to come with alioli and the waiter said yes and fetched it, only when I got home and read menu online I realised it was also supposed to also have a garlic and lemon confit. Basically 1/2 my meal were missing. We did have a free desert when mentioning it wasnt overly enjoyable. Deserts were tasty. Rooms were crammed and a 2 persons table was small and felt very impersonal. Over all over priced food and not overly enjoyable. Wouldnt return unless for a cocktail with good service in a nice building

Limited on vegetarian options but for those not limited by their diet this place puts out some lovely food. I often take friends and family there to eat as I’ve come to rely on it. It’s not disappointed yet.
