This hotel is shocking unless you don’t spend times in other hotels. I booked a luxury suite what a joke an ironing board with no legs, a kettle no coffee machine no bat robes no slippers the bar below raving until 1AM although closes at 12 for none residents I was told what time I had to take breakfast, no water in the rooms. Look for a luxury suite you should provide bath robes, bottles of water, better toiletries, a real ironing board, a TV in the bedroom, a modern tv in the suite lounge not one from 1995, all on all for £140 Shockingly bad wasn’t even clean I moved the bedside table to iron on the floor and the dust on the carpet changed the colour. Never again Never again Never again go to Sheffield on a brand new hotel with better facilities for half the price it’s that bad we will leave without having breakfast
We went for a buffet for our club members. It was a lovely place. We were made very welcome. The food was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Friendly service and an excellent breakfast make this a very pleasant place to stay. The building is 400 years old, so creaky floorboards and low ceilings are part of the atmosphere.
We had an amazing stay here, gorgeous clean rooms, very welcoming, it's a beautiful 17th century building kept to a good high spec. Lovely and warm and the breakfast was generous and tasty . Would definitely come back
I've been for breakfast and lunch and love the food and it's very reasonably priced. However, the last couple of times I've tried to go for breakfast, it's been a disaster. First time we didn't book as the booking system had only just been introduced and we were unaware of this. The staff said we could wait in the bar and they would inform us as soon as a table was available. After about 40 mins I enquired if a table was ready and was told they weren't serving anyone else as the kitchen was backed up with orders so we had to leave. Second time, my friend booked a table for 4 of us, it was my Friends birthday so a special occasion. When we arrived we were told there was a function booked and no regular bookings were being taken. We were not told this on booking and our name had been crossed out of the book but no one had thought to inform us! Needless to say we won't be going back. The staff were unapologetic on both occasions. Shame really, we did like the food a lot and the veggie breakfast is especially good.
