We stayed over Easter for a week. A party of 12, our children and grand children. We arrived on Good Friday to two beautiful home made cakes left by the owners. What a lovely start to our break. The accommodation was exactly as described, just perfect. The hot tub was an added bonus, which the family really enjoyed. The cottage is really well equipped with crockery, cooking utensils etc, unlike a few other places we have stayed. There were lots of board games and the pool table definitely got some use. We did meet the owners, who were lovely and really helpful. All in all it was a perfect week with the family and the accommodation was brilliant. Would definitely recommend staying at the old Robin Hood cottage. Andy,
For a large family reunion after lockdown this house was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners live next door & were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Five double bedrooms, two on the ground floor: we slept our three teenage grandsons in one and little grandson had a fold out bed in with his parents. One en-suite and two family bathrooms ensured ample facilities for 12 of us. The pool table and table football went down well with the kids and we all enjoyed the hot-tub. The area is great for walking and cycling or just looking out of the panoramic dining room window to enjoy the scenery. Highly recommended.
This was the perfect house for a relaxed stag-do. Loads of space and parking, as well as everything we needed - hottub, bbq and games room were great. The surrounding countryside is lovely and there are some nice and friendly pubs in Holmesfield itself too. Aoife was really friendly and very helpful, answering our questions and providing routes for a walk. Would definitely recommend!
A great house for large family get togethers with several bathrooms and lots of space - both inside and out. We had a fab time and would definitely recommend this property.
Fantastic stay in The Old Robin Hood, the house was amazing, extremely well equipped with everything you need. The house was super warm, with lovely underfloor heating - Great for my 1 &2 year old to be playing on! The views were just stunning especially out the sitting room window! The outdoor space was brilliant with some unseasonably good weather- we had a few games of football in the garden. The owners were fantastic and let my boys pet the horses and which was a highlight for the 2yo! Hubby and I enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings when babies were asleep - with gorgeous clear skies it was a treat to be able to relax. We went to Matlock and Chatsworth House both had great playgrounds and the farm at Chatsworth was lovely! Will definitely be making this an annual visit!! Thank you Peter and Aoife Kenny!!
We were a family of 15 celebrating my 60th birthday arrived to find the house was absolutely beautiful inside and out plus there were lots of little extras in the kitchen like tea coffee sugar cleaning products. The weather wasn't the best but lots of games ect and made good use of the hot tub which was topped up daily for us .it truly was a weekend to remember and would certainly recommend to anyone .plenty of room for us all
We had a fantastic time for my daughters Hen weekend. A lovely spacious house very warm a clean. Plenty of space to park the cars.
Had a wonderful weekend here, amazing house in a stunning location with great views out the kitchen and living room! Very comfortable, well equipped and so clean. The house is done to a fantastic standard! Aoife was so helpful both before check in and whilst we were there!
A fab holiday home with stunning views from the living room across the hills. A perfect base to explore the local area, Bakewell and Chatsworth house both a short drive away. As a group of friends with 8 kids the games room was a big hit and the house is very spacious with lots of character. Owner very attentive and friendly, no request too much!!! Thanks again Aoife for our lovely break.
Amazing weekend away with a bunch of girls for a big birthday cottage was lovely and we had a ball. Owner was really helpful especially when I left my kindle there couldn’t fault this cottage and will definitely return. :Rooms: 4/5
