What a find... a lovely little traditional English country pub set in a beautiful country lane surrounded by fields. The food is amazing, the bloke behind the bar couldn’t do enough for us, really friendly and welcoming.
Based on the starters 3 we shared whitebait, pate and Thai fishcakeswe were very happy with the food on offer. The gentleman serving us was very attentive and efficient. The garden area is nice and big. It's a like sparse but very functional. Would definitely come again and will recommend to friends and family
I've been wanting to visit this pub for a while now as I only live 5min away. Beautiful setting with the South Downs all around you. Food was excellent, only went for a couple of starters as it was hot and didn't fancy a big hot meal. My only negetive is the beerI love beer so its important to me I wish this pubthey did have one local beer on and most others around the area would support more local breweries and stop supporting the big corporates. So many fabulous beers out there Great place and will be back again. Many thanks

Looking forward to seeing what the new owners do with this lovely old building in such a lovely location. ==================================================== The Grove Inn reopened under new management in Summer 2013 Its such a wonderful location for a pub with open views of the South Downs. Dave, the new landlord, has made a point of specialising in real ales from the cask. You normally get a choice from three real ales occasionally including strong dark ales unless you are very unlucky and one has run out. Also your larger, Guinness, wine etc. Nice choice of pub food - the burgers are hand made and must be about 8oz. Very tasty. Lovely friendly staff, real ale, good food. Eat outside if the weather permits, in the bar area, or the glazed "garden room" restaurant on the south side. They have a pub dog called "Storm" and seem to welcome well behaved dogs with their owners. Walking distance of Petworth Town and also has a good size car park.
The best roast dinner in Sussex! Never disappointed. Top quality staff and atmosphere and the garden is gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit
A good 10 mins walk outside Petworth, but as the only other pub we could find was shut for refurbished, it had to do. Welcoming, nice drink, expensive food, and almost deserted on a Wednesday lunch, so didn't fancy overpriced defrosted food. Loooong walk back after the pint! Looks like a nice restaurant out the back, but go when it's busy.
This is my 3rd visit to this pub. Lovely setting and peaceful. Sat in the garden overlooking fields. Staff polite and friendly. Great pub.
Fantastic setting with friendly welcoming staff Perfect place to sit down and chat with friends after a hard days work or take the family out of an evening for a spot of dinner hats off to the chef!
Very nicely dressed up for Halloween, food was amazing, had homemade chicken and gamon pie what was so good. Lovely lit fire burning, staff very friendly.
Lovely little find. We gambled and won finding this place. We had sausage sandwiches with caramelised red onion. Lovely. Nice garden.
