We hired the private fuction room for a birthday party and I couldn't have been more happy with the whole experience. The landlord and staff of the Old Kings head was super accommodating and friendly. They made the whole experience seemless, going above and beyond to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I would definitely hire this room again for functions in future.
Slightly out of the way but good pub with great beer. Lots of rooms. Staff really helpful.

Its great, a proper pub with nice staff, great atmosphere, a happy crowd in the bar. Everything a well run town pub should be. Good big function room too.
Lived in Belper for 5 years and never actually checked this place out to Sunday, presumably because I didn't know much about it and it is tucked away. The building is literally 4 to 5 times the size that I thought it was. It is huge inside, on 3 levels. The top floor is possibly a function room. Very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. I presume I'll be back again. Personally, I'd like to see a bigger selection of drinks and some food available, but the bar was quite small so I imagine it wouldn't be possible. But I personally love a good craft beer and something other than walkers crisps to snack on. Burt's or Brown Bag are 10x better crisps than Walkers. Craft beer and different crisps or better food options would have taken my review up to 5 as I did really like the pub itself.
Would recommend. Felt like going home - polite staff. Clean and every one was welcoming. Great prices!
Zoe the landlady is excellent , her staff are really good .it's a good pub with a nice selection of drinks . Everyone is made to feel welcome and the space is lovely and calm. The gardens are wonderful with gazebos and nice decoration.
Had a lovely evening watch a folk band last night .the pub it's self is very charming with a great choice of beers and ciders. The staff and think he was the landlord all seemed very nice and friendly. The room upstairs for music was excellent apart from the seats are uncomfortable after a bit . But all in all a most enjoyable evening
Cant thank this pub enough 16 of us and we were made to feel so welcome girl couldn't do enough for us. Thanku so much. This place deserves the best reviews. Thanks again.
This is a really nice traditional building inside and out great character and features. However this doesn't continue with the staff who gave a tepid welcome at best and served regulars before visitors all night. This is also extremely expensive especially for soft drinks, not one for the designated driver.
