The Kings Head

About

Guildfords oldest and most haunted pubs.

Story

Constructed in the late 1500s it was built in the traditional manner using timber beams. Located in the historic Saxon market town of Guildford it is situated next to the Castle, in the town’s conservation area. In 1972 the pub was granted a Grade ll listing reflecting its status as one of the oldest buildings in Guildford.

Today the Kings Head continues to be a lively town center pub offering great home cooked food, a diverse range of drinks including six real ales, outside seating and a happy warm welcome.

Only ever been here for a drink and its one of the best places to go in Guildford. Always a good atmosphere. Never disappoints!

I visited this pub during their pizza night. As an Italian, I have to say I'm not too happy about their pizza.. the beer is great and the staff friendly though. Edit: I visited again during burger night (Wednesday) and I had to add a star. I tried the southern burger and it was excellent. Thick and tasty patty, and good bread. I highly recommend to visit on Wednesday :)

The service is extremely friendly and personable and the atmosphere is very nice (ye olde pub style) with beams, expose brick, heavy furniture and an open fire. The food left something to be desired. The potatoes tasted like they had been reheated, the beef was a bit on the chewy side and the ration of gravy was insufficient.
