Lovely building and interior. Disappointed by the staff. We came on a Thursday evening to watch a band upstairs in the stage room. OK, not a great turn out, but they decided not to staff the bar, so had to venture to the bar for over priced beer.. And to which one member of staff attempted to fill up an already dispensed drink to which I pointed out I wanted a freshly poured one!. The bar closed at 11am prompt. There were around 20 or so wanting another beer but they declined and couldn't wait to get rid of us. Unfortunately I will not return to watch live music. I will stick to where I live.. LONDON.

Very old world pub with friendly staff. The food is good pub grub. Tasty and enough. It can get a bit rowdy at times but overall a decent place to have a drink.

Everything from the pub's ambiance to the quality of drinks (be it that they never have London Pride) and overly-friendly security guards outside is what makes Star Inn a superb place. However, this is not the reason why I am leaving this review. The real reason is due to an outstanding customer-service that I was served with yesterday. During, our pub session, my friends and I were enjoying ourselves with casual pub banter and refreshing beverages. Until a guy (who clearly had a pint too much) joins our table. Since we are well-mannered individuals and have no knowledge of martial arts we let the man sit with us and socialise. Besides being a nuisance, he was not harassing anyone so we didn't see the point of asking him to leave. Everything was going alright until the man asked for a sip of my beer, I figured what the hell and gave a man my drink (which was full). This is when I witnessed an act of great injustice and pure abomination, as the guy downs my drink in one. My generosity was my downfall. Lost for words and at the brink of tears, I look at the glass that moments ago help my beer, the man leaves without saying a word. My friends look at each other holding back the laughter. I lose all faith in the world and humanity. Well, until one of the Star Inn's members hears what happened and brings me an exact same beer free of charge. To end the story, I was generously compensated for the beer that I lost and the drunk guy was escorted out. Star Inn may not have London Pride, but it certainly has justice.

A very fine selection of ales and spirits. The only issue would be when you want food the "Kitchen is just closing" Fine pub, a good place to meet.
