The Kensington Hotel

Nice room with all the basic needs, such as coffee tea, mugs, glasses and kettle. Room was a double bed. Size was adequate and came with own shower / toilet built within the room. Staff were nice and friendly. Shower could of been more powerful and windows were old wooden single glazed. Bed was comfortable but creeked now and then. Breakfast was nice too. Come with a full English and on top of a continental style buffet. As its own parking on site that makes it a bonus rather than paying for parking on the street. All in all was a nice stay and had everything that was required.

I had room 20 which I have to say was very loud! The sink in the room would gargle randomly for a good ten seconds or so throughout the stay, the water heater could be heard loudly in the room when other residents were using hot water and something was scuttling around in the roof. All of these prevented me and my partner from having a good sleep. The room wasn't as clean as I would have expected with coffee stains for instance on the walls and a lot of dust on the skirting and smelly drains. Breakfast wise there was a good selection and the fried breakfast was nice although it would have been nice to have two bits of bacon / sausage / egg instead of one.

Not a bad b and b, clean and simple was the room we stayed in. However only negative thing I would say is that the rooms make a lot of noise as in the floorboards from own room and those above also when someone from another room has a shower the water noise running through the pipes can be heard and it's quite noisy especially in the morning when you want some sleep. Also setting the shower temperature was very tricky, it's either very hot or very cold. The bath too was very slippery, my son fell in the bath and hurt himself, although they had a bath mat behind the door we found out the hard way we needed it. A sign would have been helpful. Lastly the kettle would not automatically stop after reaching boiling point which is very dangerous. The morning breakfast and food generally was very nice along with the staff. Thanks for having us.

Lovely hotel staff very friendly and welcoming nice clean room nice hot shower and food was delicious great value for money and the breakfast was fab too i would definitely stay here again and recommend to others :)

Had friends staying there so joined them for sunday lunch. The choice of menu is excellent, the prices very reasonable, the staff are first class, the dining room well appointed overlooking the beach. What more could you want.
