Aaaaamazing Sunday Roast, it is not a cheap option but it is totally worth it! I went with my family and everyone said how good everything was. For the SR, It is a bit different, they had a menu: 2 courses £25 or 3 courses £31. The pork belly was insane!!! Very very good!! Crispy and juicy! The veggies were delicious. My parents ordered fish and they weren't less happy, they loved it too. We also ordered a bottle of white wine this was nothing especial, I must say Desserts were also delicious. Our main waiter an English lad who spoke very good Spanish ; couldn't be more efficient and nicer! I'd highly recommend this place! I thought I am going to start posting a photo of the toilet a friend of mine used to say...how you see the restaurant's toilet is how you can expect the kitchen to be!! in this case? Very clean!
Sunday Roast done exquisitely. Simply the best Sunday roast I've had for a long time. The Sirloin was served pink as it should be, the pork belly was tender on the inside and crispy skin. Good sized portions, lots of vegetables and roasted potatoes. Not your least expensive, but worth every penny.
Wow Wow Wow. This is an amazing place to go. This pub is tucked away in a corner of Bristol, in a nice neighborhood. The head chef of the restaurant owns a michelin star restaurant, and is an amazing chef. We got to have the privilege of sitting right next to the kitchen to see all of the action, it was very good to watch. I had the battered fish, with triple cooked chips, the fish was beautiful and we'll battered and the chips were probably the best I've ever eaten. For starter I had the the fishcake, which was very crispy and paired well with the homemade pesto underneath, this dish was served and garnished beautifully. For the other starters we had the chalk stream trout tartare and the saffron aranchini, both of which looked lovely. For the other mains we had the pan roasted sea bass, which looked and smelled fresh, you could tell especially with this restaurant that all of their meals were fresh/homemade, the dry aged ribeye, cooked medium rare, this did come out a bit more rare than liked, but with a busy night and with seconds of time to make it cooked well, is completely understandable. To finish of the mains, we had the black treacle and mustard glazed gammon, with eggs, which was again cooked perfectly. For 'afters' we had the sticky toffee pudding, which was rich and the sauce for it was perfectly sweet; the strawberry cheesecake which was presented really well, and tasted lovely, and finally the brownie which had nothing to fault. The atmosphere was lovely, the location the same, and also the decor, and feel to this gastro pub. A must go place for sure! Pictures down below :
Enjoyed a great lunch here. Food was excellent, everyone at our table of 4 enjoyed both courses. The mackerel main was Scotts / Rick Stein quality in terms of preparation and presentation. Staff were attentive and friendly. Expensive for a suburban pub but absolutely worth it and ultimately good value.
Had a reasonable expectation before visiting the Kenny's reputation for a premium Sunday Roast and returned disappointed. The gravy was watery and lacked depth. The meat cookery on the duck was over. The plate lacked seasoning, the sides were better. Hopefully the chef team has stronger days.
Ate here with friends this evening. Disappointing experience. The mussels both in the starter and main course were on the cooler side . The cassoulet was average and incredibly salty. We did say to the waitress. I did query before ordering if the sticky toffee pudding contained nuts , was told it didn't but it was salty too. Overall a salty overload which dominated all 4 of our meals and took away the enjoyment of the meals. Lovely waitress but food did not live up to expectations.
Great pub with awesome food and wine
Steak was full of gristle and broke my filling. I asked for it come out more medium than rare, and was told this wouldn't be a problem, but it came out rare but was also cold on the outside as well as the inside. I have 4 kids so am used to cold food but this was cold-cold! Chips were nice but for £31 for one dish it did not live up to expectations. The chicken pie was also very average. Butter from the bread starter was also frozen in the middle and the bread was room temperature rather than slightly warmed which would have been nice. For a £70 meal and after great feedback, I was expecting a lot more so very disappointed.
A lovely family lunch at the Kensington Arms today. Really interesting menu, very good cooking and lovely service. We all enjoyed our lunch and drinks together. Surprisingly only one beer on tap but otherwise a perfect place for a friendly get-together. Highly recommended.
We went there last Saturday for a lunch and the food was beautifully executed! One of the best meals in my life I dare to say! I had a crab risotto starter, whole lemon sole, bouillabaisse, seasonal veggies and saffron potatoes. It was delicious! The next day I woke up and was still thinking about this meal :D definitely can recommend to anyone and will be returning for more! This place is a true gem!
