"Located close to Bristol University and the hospital, The Highbury Vaults is everyone's favourite local, from students, lecturers and academics to doctors and nurses. Dating back to the early 1800's, this pub is still very traditional inside with leather bench seating and its original snug bar with a jug and bottle! Step through the pub and into the beautiful hidden walled garden where you can enjoy alfresco this summer.A great real ale selection is on offer from guest ales and Youngs alike. The Highbury Vaults also appears in the CAMRA Heritage Guide and the Good Pub Guide."

Awesome pub. Sam was our barkeep and made us feel welcome. Beautiful beer garden and charming pub in general. There is an adorable toy train that runs through the walls, which was a whimsical surprise. Thanks for the great drinks and conversation!
One of the most typical local pubs. A great place with beautiful decoration and a beautiful garden. Ideal for every occasion. A historic place anymore for Bristol area
This was my favourite pub when I was a student in Bristol *mumbles* years ago. Came back on a random visit and was delighted to find that it's practically unchanged. The beer is still good, the staff are still friendly. And they've still got those coins glued to the wall behind the bar. Never did ask why...
Worth the climb up St. Michael's Hill and possibly one of the best pub meals I've had in a long while. I was told this place is jammed when school is in session, but on a sunny August evening it was a delight. We enjoyed smoked mackerel nicoise salad, housemade fish pie and a very respectable sticky toffee pudding. The warren of cozy rooms inside make me want to come back in cooler temps.
I love the Highbury Vaults. I've been going there for decades. A lovely traditional pub which manages to cater for the old grey regulars and the enthusiastic youngsters quite happily. However, last night I met a disabled friend there and I realised that this place is just not accessible. The toilets are reached by steep narrow stairs, and there was no way my friend could get down there with his crutches. Beer's good.
Absolutely sensational Sunday roast. Definitely one of the best I've had in Bristol and I've been here for 11 years now. Everything was perfect. But the model train was broken this time around so will be going again soon to re visit.
Had a Roast Beef lunch here yesterday and it was the best beef I've ever had out in a pub. Tasty veggies, roast potatoes and a yorkie! Great local pub too with lovely garden.
Newly dog friendly. Proper pub with all sorts of magical nooks and crannies to sit in. Great garden. Really great. Lovely beers. Love the place. Well worth a visit if you like real pubs, with old school solid food and good service and character. Fantastic Sunday roasts, too.
decent pub with a beautiful outdoor space that's great in both summer and winter. it's very studenty so if you want to avoid that maybe head further down St Michael's Hill. the beer selection isn't too great, £5.25 for a Tribute but that's typical of the area.
Great little old historic pub with great real ale and serve basic food. Great courtyard walled garden with interesting metal sculptures. Inside is like time stood still, love it. A must for any old pub lover or real ale lover
