We have been to the carvery before and had a really good roast for a reasonable price. We last went on Remembrance Sunday and my husband was wearing his medals as a veteran of the British Army as he had paraded that day. The manager gave us our dinner on the house to thank him for his service. This was overwhelming and touching and full respect was given. Dinner was lush
The carvery food was nice. Good selection. The venue is spacious, not glamorous, but fine for what it is. Queueing for food took a while, but it is nice that you can go up more than once for food. Gravy is nice and hot! We didn't have desserts as they were quite pricey. Although the sundaes did look delicious. I would go again.
Enjoyed their buffet, very good selection of meats and numerous vegetables to choose from to add to your plate. Went back to get seconds as too much to enjoy on one plate!!! Has it's own car park with more parking available outside if required. Staff excellent and on the ball. All good!!!
Haven’t been here for years but my partner wanted to try it and from memory it was very good. Immediately sat on a tiny little table for 2 in the corner with my back to the rest of the restaurant. Server was good to begin with, drinks came quickly and we got up to have the carvery. I have no words for the meal other than tasteless and raw. My carrots were warm but still very much raw and flew off the plate as I tried to dig my fork into it. The meat, Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and gravy were fine. You couldn’t even cut a knife through the parsnips my partner had on his plate, completely put him off eating the rest of his meal. No check back by any of the serving staff so made a complaint at the end whilst having to ask for the bill from the waiter who decided to carry on cleaning the table next to us whilst we spoke to him about it. All we got was ‘sorry about that, I’ll get you the bill’, no offer of a dessert or anything. Paid quickly and ran out of there, worst roast dinner ever.
Disappointed with the service given. On arriving we were slightly early 10/15 minutes there were several empty tables with no one seated and to be told these were booked. Apparently the reserved tables were for the customers that were already 20 minutes late so I asked if it were possible to sit at one of the dirty tables whilst waiting to be seated it was a no and was suggested I go to the pub for a drink which would of taken longer with the travelling involved. After standing up waiting we were then shown to a table in the corner of the room which had a large table next to it, it was noisy. We asked if we could move and the waitress appeared to be frustrated by our comments. On conclusion we weren’t happy with the customer service given and left and went to a different restaurant which was outstanding. We have previously eaten in here and the food generally has been acceptable on occasions some of the items have been missing which is frustrating if you are paying full price. Overall a good place to eat but customer service needs attention hence why the 3 stars.
Was disappointed in our visit for a birthday party to have sunday carvery. Only one girl taking orders . Chairs dirty along with some cutlery. Food was bland and could tell was not fresh .Atmosphere was hectic Vegetarian options: Have vegetarian and gluten free options Kid-friendliness: There were kids in our party . They jade to wait quite a while for their food Parking: Very small car park to the side
I bit the bullet and decided that being Sunday, a roast was ideal and searching trip advisor, this place came highly recommended and on going I found out exactly why. The price for the carvery was £14.95, you might see this as expensive, especially if you're used to a specific chain or two of family carvery that serves carvery for a slightly cheaper price but this is why £14.95 is greater value for money for a couple of simple reasons alone... Unlimited meat and yorkies! Gone are the days of a couple of slices and if you want more than one Yorkie, you got to pay! Although the carvery was self service, I did have to order drinks and they were at the table ready for when we'd finished plating up, how's that for service! Overall the experience was great, the option on the carvery and the food itself was amazing, the atmosphere was nice, the staff were friendly and delivered an amazing service, not to also mention, your tips go to the person and not the businesses pocket, bonus! So remember to tip your waitress, after tonight they showed they definitely deserve it : Parking: I found a spot no problem on the premises, however the size may need to be a bit bigger on busier nights as it could be tight fitting
Very nice carvery, best I've been too. Choices of meats & vegetables, & a reasonable price. Well done
Just been for lunch, two alternatives on the menu not available and we were not told until we asked for them. We had to ask someone if we could have a drink and then for a second. No one came to us for anything we had to ask everytime for everything Food was OK, but the service really not. Our deserts were plonked on the end of the table and then we had to asked for the last desert as the rude waitress went of doing who knows what.
We've had their takeaway Sunday roast three times now and it's been excellent every time. Quality ingredients well cooked, freshly "plated" and generous servings with a lot of choices for which veg and extras like chipolatas. The website for ordering is a bit clunky but easy enough to navigate and so far has been very reliable. Collection by car is easy... Collection slots are 30 minutes long and after you park, someone takes your name and a few minutes later the food appears on one of the tables for you to collect - all very efficient and socially distanced. Staff are super friendly too!
