Story

At The Jetty Christchurch we always have mouth-watering fish landed daily on the local Quay and producers from the local area drop seasonal ingredients right to this Christchurch restaurant - it's these local flavours that we want to celebrate with the community around us. We want The Jetty to be a neighbourhood Christchurch restaurant. 2013 celebrates 30 years of Alex Aitken cooking great food in the New Forest and Dorset.

Went for Christmas Dinner, was very poor not what you expect from a high class restaurant. Very busy felt like a conveyer belt, very disappointing for a very special family meal on a special day.

Great food, excellent service, clean, and for the quality reasonably priced. The dining room has floor to ceiling windows that overlook the sea. We've only been in wintertime so we look forward to visiting during the summer so we can eat at one of their tables on the patio.

£27.50 set menu or alacart, we had the set menu and loved every course, beautiful fresh food in a lovely atmosphere, great attention from the staff. Best restaurant in the Bournemouth area 5*.

We come here every now and then from NW of London, usually to celebrate our wedding anniversary as Alex Aitken was the Head Chef at Whitley Ridge where my wife and I spent our honeymoon, so Alex's food holds special memories for us. The food here is, well, excellent just about covers it. The choice is varied and there is also enough ""turf available if you're not totally in to your seafood. Presentation is artful and thoughtful without outdoing the ingredients. Service is professional and knowledgeable without being overbearing or intimidating. Try the soufflés (cheese or passion fruit) they are incredible and I'll invariably have one or the other. Menu changes regularly and catch of the day adds more variety. They're happy to fillet any fish they have if that's your wish. Wine list is about right although I always resent paying restaurant prices for it. Finally on a busy Saturday night the atmosphere was buzzing. Lots of happy people digging in and enjoying themselves without impacting the quality of the service. Five stars from me and my wife. Keep up the good work.
