Followed the only process to get a Triage doctor’s call by telephoning spot on the time I was supposed to. The service told me I was Caller Number 8. After about 10 minutes I was Caller Number 1. Next I was through to the Receptionist who promptly told me the 20 or so appointments they had had all gone. But if you can only get them by phone and I was Number 8, what the heck happened?
Competent ,caring and friendly professionals. I was getting no where with my old GP . joined Horndean surgery and they managed to refer me to hospital the same day during chronic pain and on going major complications. Thank you to the team there
We have been with Horndean for last few years after issues at 2 other practices. So far can’t fault them yes they are busy like most other surgery’s but we have always managed to get the help we needed and find the staff friendly and helpful.
We have never been able to get a doctors appointment for a 3 year old and the receptionists just say ‘we are fully booked’ without knowing the situation and always refer you to UTC. What is the point of a doctors surgery if you can never see/speak to anyone.
Booked an appt for it to be cancelled the morning of as the receptionist booked the appt with the wrong nurse. Next appt 3 weeks away after waiting 2 weeks for the original appt. Phoned up to get an appt a week later with the same nurse. not sure why I was given an appt 3 weeks away if they had available appointments Currently sat waiting. So far I'm still sat here 1 hour later. Absolutely rediculous! And why am I wearing a mask when the receptionists mask lives on her chin!!
Went into the surgery to book an appointment. Was told that appointments could only be made by phoning at 8:00am or 2:30pm! So you end up waiting on hold for 25 minutes only to be told that all appointments have been taken! What other business could survive with this attitude? None! Absolutely ridiculous!
I have just phoned to get test results for my partner who does not read and write. I have previously provided them with a written letter authorising me to talk on his behalf. It has never been an issue before. They have previously refused the online access to his personal health records. The intransigence of the reception staff is staggering. If you can, join a GP surgery elsewhere. They are also painfully slow to turn around medical prescriptions.
Horndean surgery are fantastic. From receptionists to doctors, the whole team are lovely.
I am very fortunate that I am in excellent health for an "over 50" so I don't often call or visit the surgery. However, when I do I am always impressed by the professional and helpful service provided by the team at Horndean surgery. Recently I needed help with my Covid Pass and the the team especially one of the ladies on reception was very patient and willing to assist me. Thank you very much!
Receptionist there, one of them i'm not sure who, is extremely rude. Always know if it is her on the phone and when I was left outside waiting for nearly an hour for my appointment, she tried brushing me off, telling me that I was late. Extremely hard to get through on the phone. Maybe a second line or voicemail service would better suit all of us patients who depend on this surgery. Plus, the 3 minute intro by Dr. Claire Matthews is super long - just put use through on the phone and reduce the amount of people waiting to get through!
