Great Xmas break, good value for money, good location, dog friendly. Near A1 but whilst you can hear vehicles in distance didn’t disturb us. Room was clean & spacious, decent size comfy bed. Service great & good quantity & quality food. Wonderful Breakfast especially freshly squeezed orange juice. Thank you for our break would recommend & would come again
Out for a birthday event. Sadly the food we ordered was well below the standard required. Onion rings were burnt and steak underdone -very, very pink rather than well done. The steak was tasteless. Wines glasses were dirty! A very poor dining experience to be honest this evening.nWe have dined there a few times over the years and have found it to be very 'hit and miss,' in terms of the quality and standards of the food. I've been advised that different chefs work there. This may be true as there appears to be no consistency with standards/quality of food. There certainly needs to be higher standards, better prices for what is served and chef needs to try harder to get the order right. The only thing nice is the setting and the spacious dining areas. Unfortunately not a positive experience though this time. Shame it had to happen at a birthday event!
We stayed her for 2 nights. The first night we booked for the restaurant for 6.30. We waited over 1 hour for the food to arrive. I might add it was just my husband and I I ordered a started and he a burger. Not acceptable. There are time lines in the hospitality industry. No amount of pleasant decor makes up for such poor service. Honestly get your act together or get out of the business I won’t return
The room was great, big enough for all of us. The sofa bed was made up as requested, and both beds were very comfy! Coffee, tea and biscuits and a good shower. The A1 is nearby which could be an issue for some, but it didn't bother us.nnCheck in took a little while and then our door keys didn't work, so had to head back to sort it.nnWe decided to have food at the restaurant/ pub part of the hotel and I wouldn't suggest it. We had a 2 hour wait, which meant a late bed time for my 6yr old. The meal I had was absolutely not worth the price I paid, I was really disappointed.nThe child's meal was good though, thank goodness, especially after the long wait. All the staff were friendly and helpful, so it's a shame about the food at dinner time.nnA positive was the breakfast which was provided with our room rate.nA buffet & continental breakfast, freshly cooked hot food, cereals, fruit, tea, coffee, juice and a fresh orange juice machine too. All very nice!
Wonderful hotel. We have stayed here twice now. Ample parking, very large rooms, amazing location for handiness to the a1 and Northumberland coast. Breakfast was delicious - especially the fresh orange juice you make yourself
