The Hogs Head is a cosy and warm family pub and hotel with restaurant. The staff were kind and helpful. Rooms were warm and very large with a bath and shower combination. Breakfast can be had via a buffet or you can order single servings of a variety of things. My poached eggs on toast came quickly but were sadly quite solid, with the toast dry.

Currently staying here tonight and tomorrow night. The building, food and staff are great! The hotel room mostly clean. Improvements would be: - Make sure the toilet is flushed before the next person checks in. Bathroom spotless but smelly urine left in toilet. - One of the bathroom wall lights was flickering like a strobe light at a club. (I removed the bulb) - The mattress! This is one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I’ve ever had to sleep on. I say sleep but I haven’t yet managed to sleep because it’s so firm and hard. Hence why I’ve decided to write a review because it’s keeping me up. One more night after this. - Plug sockets that we can use next to bed. - Running a bath, the hot water was set at one temp that no cold water was needed. It didn’t stay warm very long. - Towel rack didn’t heat up, stayed cold. I will notify hotel staff of the above. House keeping fitted my bed with another duvet under my sheet for my second night stay. Just ask if the beds to uncomfortable and they will be happy to help. The light bulb was replaced. Towel Rack, just takes a while to heat up, only works when your key card is in the slot by the door.

Have stayed her twice and enjoyed both occasions. Accommodation great and the bar and food very good. Worth a try.

Friendly and relaxed venue. Had fish and chips from the menu. Fish was very nice and fresh . Great place for meeting up with family or friends.

Celebrated a 90th birthday with a party of 30 and were very well looked after. A special table and buffet was laid on and the food and service could not be faulted. 3 families stayed b& b and both the room and breakfast was excellent 👍
