No carpark, street parking and shop carpark around the corner of the hotel.nLooks like a very run down hotel.nYou have to call a number to be let in.nThe receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and showed me to my room on the ground floor.nI paid £130 for this room, it was way overpriced!!!nNo fan, no hair dryer.nVery very very lumpy springy old mattress, I had to use the duvet of the small bed and then ½ the duvet just to not to feel the lumps!! If any hotel is going to charge over a £100 then the mattress needs to be sleepable!!!nNot the most scenic view out of the window, check the photo!!nNo food in the evening or breakfast, no bar!!nWifi is excellentnThe shower was hot and powerful.nNo blind in the shower room!nCurtains let the light in so I wake early from sunrise!nLocation next to the small town centre shops and a few restaurants within a 15 minute walk.nUnfortunately I wouldn't want to stay again because of the mattresses, which is a shame because the lady receptionist was great!!!
Went to view this hotel before paying for a double room. The pictures look nothing like pictured online, wooden boards up, very run down and an awful area. I turned around and didn’t stay.nAbsolutely disgraceful.
Got woke up at 5 am to two junkies with needles in there arms and when I went to tell them to keep it down one woman chased me with a needle that was just previously in her arm highly recommend do not go
Awful, arrived at hotel, felt very unsafe not at described....booked a hotel in Glasgow very last minute after arrival here.... other hotel amazing and safe
This was the second time our company has put us up to stay at the Helix, and we love staying here, the breakfast is phenomenal, and if you can't have a cooked breakfast or enjoy the continental due to time constraints, they make epic bteakfast rolls to take away. The hotels restaurant is also great, with generous portions and fresh ingredients, the staff are also very helpful and friendly, and know how to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Would recommend
