Evening meal with family. Staff all very friendly and attentive, lovely atmosphere. Great menu selection, particularly impressed with veggie/vegan selection. I had the stuffed sweet potato, it was amazing. The pizzas are huge! Definitely good value for money.
The location of the pub was beautiful with clear views of the river. Although the service received was friendly it had slowed down towards the end of the visit which we had to go and obtain a staff member to serve us. The food was of excellent quality and the menu offering was varied for an independent pub. I would most likely visit here again.
I am reviewing a pub. Kids pizza was below average. honestly who orders pizza in a pub?? Quinoa salad was average. However, Sunday roast was excellent, better then expected. Plentiful with great variety and flavours. For this thing alone this place deserves 4 stars. Beautiful view, shame it got dark.
The Half Moon is a lovely location. Based on the meal I had I can only rate it a couple of stars at most. I ordered a burger and it was full of fatty bits so I couldn't stomach eating it, chips were lovely though. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals, it seems quite good value for money in terms of portion/location. However, if you visit, don't order a burger!
Just wanted to say the biggest thank you to the team for such brilliant service and a lovely evening. We had a very specific dietary/medical requirement and the team were so, so accommodating and made us feel so comfortable, relaxed and at ease. Massive thank you to Leah in particular for being so kind and supportive. Yummy food and really efficient service - thank you all :-
The location is great, easy to get to by land or river. Drinks are ok, food may or may not be right and may be burnt. It's nothing amazing. The waiters for the most part very nice, but can be a little slow. Cutlery wasn't particularly clean, but they are happy to replace. All in all its the location which makes this place
Visited the Half Moon Inn for a late Sunday afternoon lunch as a member of a party of eight. The service was reasonably prompt, but not with the friendliness that makes you feel you have made a good choice for an afternoon out. The meals arrived and most of them were quite good. My wife ordered a chicken burger meal and when she bit into it found it to be full of gristle and bone grated up with the chicken. It spoilt the afternoon. I found on ordering a lager shandy it was charged at £8 per pint. The really best thing about the Half Moon was its location on the river bank, the views were absolutely fantastic
Cant say anything about the food as we didnt actually eat here. Having made a booking for 10 people in the restaurant and 5 campers to stop over in the car park overnight. This booking was made 2 months previously and confirmed a few nights before. we all travelled from distances over 200miles to meet up here and have a meal before going to camper mart the day after. we were told on arrival the car park was full and we in fact couldnt stay. We were told this by very rude staff who didnt really care whether we stayed to eat or not. So we left, went to the pub further down the road. The black swan, whom were extremely accomadating on a saturday evening and squeezed us all in. we all had a fab meal and enjoyed great hospitality and spent over £600 between us, your loss. we certainly wont be recommending you within the large vw community.
Not the cleanest place in the world, had to request a glass for my drink and the ladies toilets were blocked with poo. Reported to bar staff who were unable to deal with the issue as there was no cleaner? Manager unable to manage situation. Pity because it was a great setting.Service: 2/5
Good food but very large portions. Great staff. We didn't stay, just had a mealLocation: 4/5
