Fantastic setting, great food with big portions. Attentive staff, real ales could have been kept better, overall a great place with good atmosphere ! Will go back !

Three of us had an evening meal that was pre-booked. There was only three staff on for the whole of the pub. Staff seemed very stressed and over stretched. Food was average. For dessert i had the lemon pavlova, which i was really looking forward to. So disappointed. When it came it was just shop bought lemon curd and fresh cream with two bits of meringues also shop bought.

Food good but to wait 50 minutes for pre-ordered food is not acceptable!!!

Just got back from dinner at The Shakespeare, and sorry to say we were a bit disappointed with it. Party of seven. No ice for drinks on a Saturday evening !!Why not ?? The jacket potatoes not ready so had to settle for chips. Lamb shank nice,came with parsnips which were rock hard !! What a waste as my dad and I couldn't eat them,its just cooking you do it every day. Not everyone needs a great big portion I suppose this is to justify the cost of each meal.
