We meet with old friends once in a while and wanted to try somewhere new. We found this pub online and visited for lunch on a Friday. The staff were so accommodating to the five of us. Jane in particular provided exemplary service, it is truly refreshing to meet someone so genuinely caring about your experience with them. She really made our day special. Wine list was fantastic, a wide range of specials, and a varied and different menu. We all had different starters and mains, all of which were exceptionally cooked, presented beautifully and did not leave us hungry! Lovely coffee and home made puddings rounded off our experience. We did not feel rushed, were very well looked after and made to feel at home. What a gem! We are so pleased we found this place and have already booked for our next get together. Thank you Jane and team, your warm smiles, funny stories and genuine nature really made our day.

First time I have given a 1 star. The one star is for the decoration of the pub and staff, except the boss. She was not friendly, seemed overly authoritative, and the food was very very disappointing. We had steak, it was the worse we ever had! I had medium rare, it was tough as boots. My partner was taken aback too with the cheap meat. It's fine for a drink, if you don't mind a landlady who does not make you feel welcomed. It's the only pub we would not waste our evening in. PS We have been before, thought maybe a one off, go again as lovely a lovely remote pun, in a nice location. But our first impressions were confirmed sadly. I assume if your a local and spend your money often, you will get a smile.

Sticky toffee pudding had no dates so was more like syrup sponge, disappointing! Excellent service, good size portions.

Very cosy but also great dining place The staff were very friendly Fantastic wood burner in the bar We shared mussels in wine and cream with chips and ciabiatta Everything was cooked fresh and was fantastic We will be back for a full meal

I go to the folk club which is held here every month. It is the friendliest one I have ever been to.
