Man cooking was a bit abrupt. The fish cake didn’t taste of fish and the sausage in batter was horrible and greasy. Threw them away!
This place has the most AMAZING chips and anything that goes with those chips. I love Haddock and it is always cooked beautifully here - they also do everything else you expect from your chippy, including some very good burgers, and grilled/fried chicken. Whenever I am in the area this is one treat I can't help but let myself have! The staff are lovely too!!! 5

Has to be one of the best fish and chip shops, fish always lovely and moist, chips are outstanding. Also, the pork ribs are a must they are big and succulent with a great bbq sauce. Probably the best ribs I have eaten in Essex. Strongly recommend Anchor in Ongar. Keep up the good work guy’s
Very friendly, helpful staff, quickly put the order together. Food was lovely and hot. Kid-friendliness: The staff were friendly towards the children, offered a lollipop when one was fidgeting Parking: Not really any parking, people tend to park alongside the shop, there is parking further up in the main shopping area.

The best Fish and Chips for miles. Always polite, happy to cook anything freshly if you are prepared to wait. A real treat every now and again!
Best fish and chips in Essex! Fish is always perfect and the chips are spot on. They have really come into their own through lock down refusing to shut. Hat off to you guys
