The Grantley used to be our local and was consistently fabulous, and consistently busy. Warning bells should have sounded when I was able to book a Friday night table just a few nights before. Service was slow, dirty glasses weren’t cleared away, starters were very nice but empty plates were left for ages. Staff members were drinking coffee just not paying any attention to the customers. Steaks were fatty and took a lot of effort to cut through, not seasoned, quality was rubbish. £28 a dish! Risotto was the worst I’ve ever tried: the rice had never been close to Parmesan or butter it was absolutely tasteless. Risotto is not that difficult to cook, I can’t believe it was that bad. The manager was very nice and blamed the butcher on the quality of meat - surely a chef shouldn’t be accepting it if it’s that bad quality? Don’t accept it and try and charge £28 for it! The Grantley has gone from my favourite pub to one I wouldn’t eat at again. Service and food both crashed, I’m so disappointed.
Booked a table here for Sunday the manager Ed went above and beyond to get us a private area with the family perfect for the kids and the food was absolutely amazing. We had roasts and would strongly recommend a visit to anyone. Definitely the best roast for miles and a really lovely atmosphere of families and dogs welcome great local and family pub highly recommend.
Wonderful service. Nice atmosphere. Very well cooked trout and fish and chips. Well balanced dishes overall. Definitely recommend as value for money. Youngs so good beer too. Really great bar service from Will and Josh who both have good hair!
Perfectly adequate Sunday roast. Excellent service. Beautifully tender beef and the vegetarian nut roast was lovely. Tables were a bit squashed in and the food isn’t cheap. But I guess we all need to support the things we like as it must be tough given the energy and other inflationary pressures.
We enjoyed a fabulous family lunch here, celebrating the 70th wedding anniversary of my parents in-law. The level of service was fantastic, ensuring that all of our party, which spanned in age from 18 to 90+ were all equally well looked after. The food was fabulous and catered for a wide range of dietary requirements. We were lucky enough to dine in the Granary, a beautiful space for that 'private dining' atmosphere. All in all, a great venue, with lovely staff and wonderful food!
Nice atmosphere, good service. Recommend for a drink. Price of food was high considering the quality and taste of food. Would come back for the drinks, nice atmosphere and friendly service but won't eat here again.
Have been many times as my sister lives nearby and has always been excellent. Unfortunately yesterday we were very disappointed had the beef roast and although the beef was lovely the potatoes tasted as if they had been cooked the day before and the vegetables were barely warm. We are not the type of people to complain and were very hungry and had a long journey to get here but felt sad as its always been excellent.
A big thank you to Google for letting us discover this fantastic Gastro Pub. I am a wedding photographer who just visited a beautiful wedding venue near Guildford. I typed on my phone the best Gastro pub near me. The Grantley Arms was suggested, and we couldn’t be happier. We had an amazing lunch, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The Pub is clean and smells lovely, staff are extremely friendly. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!!
Residents of Wonersh are a lucky bunch, they get to live in a beautiful little village with this fantastic local. The Grantley Arms manages to be both a solid ‘proper pub’ I’d happily spend a day in here putting away pints of Youngs ordinary and also a great food option. The food is perfectly fine although won’t knock your socks off, also….no Sticky Toffee Pudding? Come on now! This is a pub that is all things to all people. Note: overflow parking is available at the local doctors’ surgery, check the sign in the Grantley Arms’ car park for timings.
Gastro pub prices but greasy spoon food quality. Shame as its a nice and cosy looking pub however was really let down by the food. The food is priced at premium gastro pub level. The food quality however is weatherspoons. We were meant to get triple cooked chips but ended up with basic oven chips. Burger was also really greasy and just not nice. Service was good and has a good atmosphere, good for a drink but avoid the food.
