Excellent road side pub in Guildford. Large indoor area and outside tables. Noisy because of the proximity of the A3 but indoors is OK. Great food choice at very modest prices, beer wines and spirits at sensible prices too. Will visit again
Excellent service provided by the young professional bar woman. Nice pub, toilets clean. Food very good value for money, I had the hunters chicken. The reason for 4 star instead of 5, is because the chicken is clearly frozen. Still very tasty though, substantial portions, I will likely be back tomorrow to have dinner again. I’m working away for a couple of days, I’m glad I ventured out rather than eat at my hotel.
The place is amazing, indoor as well as the outdoor area. It has good liquor options but they don't have a few things, it's better to ask and clarify before placing an order. Overall the vibe is pretty chill and one of the good places in Guildford to go and have fun with your friends
The staff are lovely and the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately, part of the ceiling had severe water damage and kind of looked like it could fall down at any moment, One set of ladies toilets was out of order by the seems of it and the food that I had a chicken kebab was very bland. It had 4 slices of breaded chicken and around 7 chips. The rest of the food was good, I just wouldn't order the kebab again. This is also very much a "sports pub" so if you're not into football on in the back round then this isn't going to be for you.
Absolutely amazing service! We came as a group of about 30 people. Didn't book and turned up of the off chance they have room. When we arrived they made sure we had 2 tables close to each other and everyone in the pub was lovely, helpful and the food was excellent as well! Def recommend!!
I don't know what pub these other reviewers were at because our experience was very different! It wasn't busy but we still waited ages for our food, then when it arrived mine was barely cooked, my daughter's was burnt and the chips were literally dripping in oil. Only one of the women's toilet cubicles had a working lock and the toilet roll holders were broken. I used to come here as a teenager many years ago and was hoping for some happy memories but I was left disappointed. I won't be returning.
What a great place, a family meet up. Easy to find, onsite parking and a welcome second to none. All food was top quality and went above and beyond to feed the little ones. We also shared a moment with the locals who were next to us. Will hopefully call again. Manythanks.
The bar lady asked if I could leave a Google review whilst pouring me a pint today. Bit of a strange thing to do as. 1 One of the toilet cubicles was out of order. 2 Soap dispenser was broken on the wall. They haven't put any bottled hand soap in its place. 3 One of the pool tables was out of order. 4 Didn't have Amstel. Had run out. I think it would be fair to say if you are going to ask your stuff to ask customers to leave a review make sure the place is looking good. On a more positive note the staff are very friendly and the prices on the beers and food are good.
Super cheap and good vibes. They have student discount too so the best pub in town for students!!! 10/10
I like the pub, but disappointed that continuously, customers left waiting at the bar while 4 of 5 staff more concerned with clearing glasses and tidying the pub at 22:15 to prepare for closing. I'm fed up with hearing about pubs struggling for income, when their staff are prioritising in this way
