I had a quick scan of the reviews of this place and decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch .Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing .. very overcooked sirloin roast and the pork belly wasn’t even recognisable as such . The atmosphere was good but to be seated at a makeshift table on the main entrance thoroughfare when there seemed plenty of other tables around was a bit strange ? I don’t want to give too much of a negative review and just let the photos of my Sunday lunch do the talking . I feel a bit sorry for not leaving a tip as the wait staff tried their best .. but I’m sure they know the food is really not up to scratch . I really don’t know why other reviewers actually rave about the food ? Perhaps they should get out more ?
We visited for the first time today. Food and and settings were fab, very dog friendly. The Banoffee pudding was to die for! The highlight for us though was the service. We were looked after by Adam. I would say one of the best waiters we have had in a very long time. Adam was friendly and attentive and nothing was too much. They should be very pleased to have you… I would hire you in a heartbeat
Popped in for an early supper and a drink. Warmly welcomed by Warren, a fellow SAFFA. Great food recommendations. The food was excellent, and the armosphere was great with very warm service. Highly recommended, we will return!!Food: 5/5
Was happy to find gluten free fish and chips on the menu, the batter was great along with the 3 sauces including curry. The service was friendly but a bit chaotic hence the 4 scoreFood: 5/5
One of the best pub around! Food and atmosphere were great. The people serving were very kind and friendly. Enjoyed every moment.Food: 5/5
We had an AMAZING time and meal at the Grantley Arms on Saturday in their private room as a special celebration with our close family after getting married. The staff took extra special efforts to look after us including writing on the chalk board, extra special attention on service, even learning our names from the placeholders, and the waiter George nearly sacrificed his hair on the candle taking a photo for us! Excellent service and excellent food. I would be back again to celebrate our anniversary I hope! Thank you.
What an amazing pub. The Grantley Arms is absolutely beautiful. Cosy, beautifully presented and fantastic customer service. Food quality is extremely good as well. I certainly recommend The Grantley Arms to everyone. It would be the perfect place for holding events such as birthdays, business meetings, catching up with family and friends or just to relax with a drink. George helped us out and I could see that he provides every customer with the most attentive and caring level of customer service. Keep up the amazing work. Stunning interiors, absolutely gorgeous rustic village pub. Great parking space and great vibe the minute u walk in. However it's massively overpriced, menu is poor on top main courses sides are extra prices. Service isn't great and for this level of pricing, you would expect something extra. Food portions are tiny. Not a typical pub filling dishes. I was confused whether this was a village pub trying to strive as a pretentious Michelin restaurant. But achieved neither: not a good home cooked meal, definitely not a restaurant level. The owner needs to decide which direction to choose. 3 stars for interiors only. Great for a drink only. I have been to many local pubs and this one was the weakest.
Beautiful pub, wonderful surrounding area. The service was good, not to sure about the managers chilling out front of house with their laptops. You do have an office, I'm guessing. The food tasted lovely, haddock and chips, Chicken, chips and a watercress salad. The presentation for the fish dish was ace.. not so for the chicken. The building is stunning, the little court yard garden is so cute. Parking is great and at the rear. The desert's.... Oh wow... They were presented beautifully, tasted fantastic and I think was the best part of the experience. The lad running around on the floor and bar was brilliant. I was a little concerned as to why he was the only one running the entire front of house and the floor. All in all a good experience and highly recommended
The Grantley is our local, but we had our wedding there last week and they were amazing! All of our guests mentioned how attentive their staff were, as well as the food being amazing which was a real plus! I couldn’t recommend the place enough, it is a great place run by great people!Food: 5/5
