Great pub with a lovely atmosphere! We visited all the pubs in the village and this was the best! Had a lovely meal and everything is definitely home made and really tasty! We were made to feel really welcome and so was our dog! Good selection of hand pulled beers and great selection of gins! Would definitely recommend a visit to this pub! It's gorgeous!!

Sounds bit fancy and quite expensive in comparison to rest of village however starters weren't great, main course burger best we've ever had and dessert lovely. Staff really friendly and pleasant. Dog friendly- they even offered him water.! Over all really lovely evening and would recommend

An expensive pub in a lovely location with average food and decent service. I've eaten at some brilliant gastro pubs but this isn't one of them. £16 for calves liver or £14 for chicken Kiev when neither were particularly fantastic isn't great value. Neither is £7 for sticky toffee pudding or about the same for a very simple goats cheese salad. We paid around £40 per head to eat here and I felt a little short changed. As a place to go for a beer it's great, but sitting in a slightly cold, somewhat tired lounge and eating an overcooked chicken Kiev isn't my idea of the best way to spend an afternoon.

Pretty & cozy but we felt it was quite overpriced as the portions were small & the food average. New potatoes tasted as if they had been microwaved and most of the food needed lots of butter to make it palatable. Staff v nice, lovely to have a real fire

The best meal out I have had in my three day north Yorkshire break .The lamb was fantastic and the service was quick and friendly.
