We really enjoyed our stay here. Brett and Alix went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The evening home cooked meal was a very welcome and tasty change from pub food and nice to enjoy around a shared table with other guests. Likewise with the hot breakfast. Also, soaked boots were perfectly dry in the morning and we made full use of the laundry service. Located 20 min walk outside Ingleby but further along the C2C so allows you to get a head start in the morning.
One of the cheaper of the 17 accommodations I booked for the C2C. A nice old rambling building in a beautiful setting. Brett, the new manager, was very friendly and we checked in early and wandered through the cosy downstairs rooms and up to a nice bedroom. Nicely furnished, clean and with comfy beds. It had a small walk-in shower which seemed to lack a little oomph and heat. The nearest eatery was the Blue Bell pub just under a mile away – but Brett was just beginning to serve evening meals. Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety; the hot breakfast was local produce and very tasty.
Gorgeous secluded spot on the edge of the forest. Such a lovely welcome from Alex and Brett. Piping hot shower and comfortable bed! Delicious breakfast evening meal also available Fabulous for walking or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Will return! Thank you
A favourite on my recent C2C walk. A very comfortable friendly and welcoming accommodation. Pre-dinner nibbles and drinks were a classic touch sat outside on a great patio overlooking wonderful countryside. Fabulous food, dinner and breakfast. Totally recommended.
Recently under new ownership. The evening meal, priced at £25, didn't quite meet expectations.nnThere is some traffic noise from the nearby A road which spoilt the serenity. The bedroom was small and cozy with slanting roofs so maybe a problem for taller people.nOn a brighter note, nearby Osmotherley is definitely worth a visit. It's a charming Yorkshire village with a historic green and a delightful pub called The Golden Lion, full of old-world charm.
