Our 5th visit to the Glenburn in 3 years. Efficient, friendly and competent staff who go out of their way to make your stay a good one.nSince the new chefs started the food quality is absolutely fantastic. We eat a meal here every time we visit. Great meal choices and chef was happy to make a substitution due to allergies, and what a tasty alternative it was! Yes, the bedroom bathrooms could do with a refresh like the rooms have all had but their perfectly serviceable and clean and warm.
We were on a weekend trip, as we approached the hotel we saw the wonderful view. The hill up to it was another matter. Definitely a taxi job, room was great with a sea view with wonderful changing scenery. Breakfasts were good , plenty of everything. Evening meals passable. At both meals, always staff available to help. Now to the steep flight of wide stone steps to drag your luggage up on arrival and bump down on leaving. Not good on the elderly. I will add that all staff throughout the hotel were great.
All staff excellent..Micheal the Manger should be proud of his very friendly staff through out.nFood excellent and the Chef Colin obviously passes his excellent work practice on to his staff as all food was beautiful.nThe reception team where great with their knowledge and customer service.nAll in all I enjoyed my short stay and look forward to returning
We ended up on Bute after our tent broke in the Skye wind. Can't say we were disappointed, the island is so quiet and peaceful and the hotel is a cracker. Very accommodating staff, decor is a bit dated but it's grand and lovely. We had a great time and really enjoyed the hotel !!
Lovley Victorian Hotel in an excellent position on Bute. Foyer is beautiful and grand, carpets are red tartan on room floors. Very large comfortable room with partial sea view. All matching furniture in rooms with tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries. We had breakfast which was very good. would definitely recommend this hotel.
