Comfortable and basic. Very clean. Great on site concierge. Fabulous views. Hot hot water. Beds pine silk.6iats and foam mattress but clean and comfortable. We'll equipped, typical Backpackers kitchen. Nice lounge dining room. Very handy to the ferry, shops, restaurants, public transport. It's basic but I enjoyed it. I'd go back. Rooms: Decent size and clean. Nearby activities: Close to Rothesay shops and ferry Walkability: Flat easy walk from ferry
I stayed here recently on a few days visiting the island for a work trip. We were so well hosted, the rooms are clean and all you need for a trip that gets you out the house! The beds are so comfy, and the bedding plush and soft. Thanks!Rooms: 5/5
First appearances are deceptive. Outside is a bit tatty, but the rooms, showers and kitchen are clean and comfortable. Friendly Lady running the place. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return. Walkability: A short walk from the ferry and town centre.
We missed the ferry so had to stay somewhere 2 adults and 2 children so we went there as we've been told by a local that it's a good place to stay. We went there and were positively surprised. Comfy beds, lovely smelling sheets, good clean affordable hostel in convenient location. Well appointed kitchen. Quiet with a lovely view.Rooms: 5/5
I had a wonderful stay at Bute Backpackers. The room I had was gorgeous with a beautiful sea-view and I had it to myself which was a pleasant surprise! The common areas are lovely, clean and spacious. The whole vibe is relaxed and cosy and I felt right at home. Suzanne especially made the stay great - making sure I had everything I needed and always up for a nice chat. If I return to Bute hopefully soon I know where I'll be staying :

Cheap as chips, and compared with other urban backpacker hostels it's good value. Good hot showers, excellent kitchen facilities, big lounge. Our room had beds rather than bunks and a wonderful sea view. Sandy who runs the place is a "character" - he took umbrage at our concern over leaving our bags in the hallway in full view of the street. Bute is apparently "crime free", which is good to know! Recommended.
Had a lovely stay here with friends and our children for a night on Bute. Super cheap, clean, comfortable, and a really friendly couple running the place. Great view of the sea.Rooms: 4/5
This hostel is in a prime location overlooking the seawall and Bay. The rooms are large very clean and have all been modernised with new flooring and clean painted walls. The kitchen is large modern and accessible there is a nice courtyard and a nice large common room. My host was very accommodating and showed true Highland hospitality. I will go back and recommend this grand house to any seeking affordable, convenient accommodations. My time here was magical.
Kitchen facilities are excellent - inc ingredients and flavourings to add to your own cooking. Sandy the owner works very hard to keep a good hostel place on Bute. Great location, great sea views, and well recommended for authentic, affordable stay on the island.Rooms: 4/5
