A grand, dog-friendly, place to stop for Sunday lunch before walking at nearby Kingley Vale. Lovely food at a reasonable price. One star knocked off because they had no record of my telephone booking a few days previously. Fortunately they were able to accommodate us!

Went for Sunday roast. Two not very large slices of meat, soggy Yorkshire pud and cauliflower cheese that had so little cheese sauce I thought it was just cauliflower! Edible but not particularly good and far better around.
Lunch with family. Great pub lunch, service and atmosphere good. Food was prompt and well presented, all meals were well cooked with the exception of the crumble which was little dry and overcooked. Overall a good experience.Food: 4/5
Fantastic pub and restaurant serving a wide variety of drinks and a superb evening menu. Staff and service exceptional. Very lucky to have this within a few miles of our house. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Not just run of the mill stuff either! Parking: Ample parking either next to the pub, or opposite in dedicated car park.
The food is well presented, tasty and cooked very well. It's not a pub menu as we were expecting and is, like many nowadays, more of a nouvelle cuisine restaurant style of food, portioning and price. It was a bit chilly whilst we were there even with the fire burning which is why I've rated the atmosphere as 3 stars. I prefer a cosier warmer place to eat. The staff were very good and attentive and the wait time for courses was good without delay. There's plenty of parking but we hadn't realised the car park was across the road from the pub. We thought it was a little pricey than expected which would play a part in deciding how often we'd go back there. Vegetarian options: There were vegetarian options on the menu. Kid-friendliness: Not much for the kids seemed to be on offer but we didn't have them with us so wasn't offered anything at the table. We didn't see a children's menu but there might be one. Parking: Probably 20 spots available depending on how good people are at parking. Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps in the building but seating available without having to use them
Pretty bad service from the moment we stepped in. The servers are not trained to make a customer feel welcome. They rush to get your order and rush to get you out of the door. Even through we were quite full, we ordered food to go with the drinks out of courtesy but we were almost told off for ordering limited food. Not warm not welcoming not cheap. It is basically a monopoly in the area so it gets to overcharge for rubbish food and service. Not ideal place if you are a foreigner felt a bit of a biased treatment from servers
Popped in here for an early dinner on Easter Friday. Food was excellent, both main and dessert. Staff were friendly and helpful. Was very quiet but it was early 6pm. Suspect booking probably essential most weekends. There are a few parking spaces opposite the pub. And about 8 tables in the garden at the rear plus a few at the front. Would highly recommend if in the area.
Lovely pub. Staff very polite and helpful, food was gorgeous. I had the Steak and Ale Pie and my wife had the half chicken. Good size portions and very tasty.
