Truly delicious and presented superbly. The staff are lovely, efficient, smiley, helpful, friendly and certainly made us feel right at home and welcome. The food was delicious, very salty, which suited me, but not the others. Highly recommend dining here, just ask chef to hold the salt.
We had a fantastic evening at The Barleycorn. Very friendly and efficient service and food was amazing. We had one Texas and one Swedish burger. The burgers themselves were tasty and good quality, but the generous toppings just made them into the tastiest burgers we have ever experienced. Fries were restaurant quality, seasoned to perfection and so crispy! If we were staying longer we wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Well done Barleycorn staff!
A beautiful old and charming pub full of history. The food here is excellent and cooked from scratch . However we did have to wait a while for our main course. The landlords are friendly and welcoming. The prices are good. Non alcoholic beers are available.
Our first visit to the Barleycorn for the Sunday carvery exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Typically carvery roasts aren't always of the highest quality, but the chef had four perfectly-cooked meats on offer including slow-cooked lamb with dumplings, which was a revelation!, with a wide array of delicious veg. Our second visit a week later for lunch on a Saturday was just as good. A warm welcome, all the food was excellent, and extremely reasonable prices quality ale at a shade over 4 quid a pint is an extreme rarity!. A proper hidden gem.
Omg an amazing place! The staff are so lovely and friendly and the food was amazing. The mug of tea came out in a cute flower pot mug and a spade as a tea spoon The pub is fresh and modern but not out of keeping from its past. I would love to come here again and try something else from the menu.
Food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The Lady behind the bar and waiting on us was a joy. Friendly, bubbly and nothing was too much trouble. A real asset for the pub. We will be back.
Had a carvery at The Barleycorn today, absolutely delicious! Choice of 4 meats, lots of vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, plenty of meat and very tender, chef very Friendly and chatty.Staff very helpful, lovely venue and decor, dog friendly, we didn't have dessert as so full but table next to us had brownies and icecream which looked yummy! Car park outside and local parking near Maybush copse which is a great walk around woods and paths and leads you onto fields towards shore if you need to walk off your lunch ! Definitely would recommend pub to others ,great location and awesome staff.
Dropped in for an early dinner before going to the theatre in Chichester. Quite quiet but really good food and friendly staff. Will definitely be going again.
