Tracey , Dan and the team welcome you to The Five Horseshoes. A 16th century gastropub set in the spectacular Chilterns.
Our pub is unique due to its wonderful setting. The views are known locally to be maybe one of the best in the area. The original pub is 400 years old, with 2 fantastic old fire places and low ceilengs which make it particularly cosy during the winter! Our newer conservatory restaurant makes the most of the breathtaking views of the chilterns -during spring the lambs in the field adjacent are a great addition! The 2 large beer gardens are a truly peaceful setting to sit back with a pint of our great brakespear bitter, or enjoy a dish off our ever changing menu.
The menu changes regularly, at least once a week. Our head chef strives to create a menu which makes the most of locally sourced produce and support other small buisnesses around us, with venison from just 2 miles down the road making a regular appearance. A few of our locals bring in their own produce such as eggs, fruit and vegetables which are all used in the kitchen- you can't get fresher than that! Furthermore, to cater for all tastes Dan has handbuilt a wood fired oven, in which we cook our authentic pizzas. All the dough and toppings are homemade, providing a delicous experience.
Also worth a mention is the "Bar Specials" Menu. Tracey and Dan are great believers in homemade produce. Thus the Five Horseshoes homemade Ginger Beer has proved to be quite a success, and for a half a litre at £2.50 a bargain too! Alongside the ginger beer, homemade sloe gin, lemonade and elderflower cordial all feature on their original "Homemade" Bar Menu.
The Five Horseshoes is happy to welcome anyone and everyone. We are popular with families due to the large gardens and a wendyhouse to entertain the kids. Those who would prefer a romantic setting can dine in our candlelit restaurant with a view of the sunset over the chilterns.
We can cater for all manner of parties, barbeques, birthdays and weddings.
