The Chequers Inn is a rural pub serving great food in a cosy atmosphere in the heart of the village of Fingest, at the top of the Hambleden Valley. Well known for its great food, excellent wine cellar and warm welcome set in the most amazing countryside!

Lovely pub, such a cosy and nice atmosphere and decoration. Bar lady was extremely friendly and chatty and didn't make me and my partner feel annoying for coming in 15 minutes before closing time. Drinks were very nice and at a good price and I would definitely recommend!

Fantastic location..excellent food..staff exemplary particularly as our visit was at the latter end of very busy mothers day service. Dog friendly too! Thank you

Very hospitable, crackling fire, lovely wine, good service, but most importantly, the essence, great food, very well executed. We will be going again.

Atmospheric small country pub. Popped in for a very acceptable pint of Brakspear's while out for a walk. Quite busy on a Saturday early afternoon. Nice open fire. Didn't eat but food looked good. They seem to have a shortage of crockery though as many customers were served their food on what looked like bits of old floorboards.
